Late model, neutral color car. Not worried about "correction", just a prep before applying a spray sealant.

Car will be washed and clayed.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I guess anything could be used by hand . But I would recommend something like a finish polish , that its not too abrasive and easier to spread by hand. I little goes a long way.
Car pro essense is a very friendly product and it has fillers which may also help correct minor imperfections. Its recommended to use as a prep polish before applying a coating.

Just make sure you do not get a product with a lot of dusting , like a compound type of product

Most importantly is getting rid of any polish residue on the panel , so an IPA wipe goes a long way after polishing your car to make sure there is not residue left on the panel

There are a few versions of essence, make sure you use the “car pro essence extreme gloss enhancer” version, I’ve used it a couple times by hand and it works very well, comes off very easily and does minor correction, sets up well for any SI02 final spray product. If you’re not using it as Si02 spray, I’ve had very good luck with Meg’s 205 as a finishing polish By hand.

I like m205 with my da polisher and even on small spots by hand but it is a little bit on the dusty side for me when i tried to do a bigger panel by hand . Funny that I find ultimate polish less dusty than m205. You would think it would be the other way around.

just a prep before applying a spray sealant.

For all the work, time and energy it requires to apply anything by hand - I would opt for either a finishing polish or an AIO.

With one of these two products you'll get all the benefits of a paint cleaner PLUS some light correction. Might as well get all you can get while the getting is good.

:)

I have good luck using BF one step....it cleans....polish and protects....then use BF SIO2 sealant...BF one step can be used by hand

So the protection of an AIO won’t interfere with bonding of the spray sealant?
