Best radar detectors.

I really need to get one. My license just got suspended because of 3 outstanding tickets. Funny thing is I paid 2 off and got the 3 right after. 4 of the total 5 were speeding tickets the other was for my tail lights being tinted and I wasn't even the one driving lol. I drive back and forth to California 2 times a month 850 miles round trip done twice (drive to ca the back home for a week then drive to California then back home) it's a long stretch of highway with cops all over.

Try not speeding.

This much is true however the V1 is great and IMO the best

Swanic this is true as well but I can't drive 55 or 65 or 75 for that matter. My commute is 70 miles one way and driving fast is just part of the nature of doing business. Most days I hit 100 - 110 on my way to work and around 90 coming home. One year I tried to give up speeding for Lent. Wow that was very difficult. I'm trying so hard to slow down but where most people when they drive just see traffic, I see a NASCAR racetrack with large numbers on the cars ahead of me.

100- 110 really nice. Keep it up and we will see your name in the Newspapers

V1 is the only radar that locates signals with directional arrows - and gives number, type and strength like AWACS aircraft. Same engineer that designed it co-designed escort, but made the V1 better with "locator" feature.

Get the V1 if you like the direction arrows.

Get the Escort 9500 if you like GPS feature to track speed traps.

Bel (sister company of escort) has the Redline & STI magnum that are excellent options also, but no GPS option.

Personally I run a Bel STI Magnum

I'm a fan of the escort 9500ix & the escort max

Escort 9500ix here as well. Best radar in the world! Beats my old Valentine1 and all of its false X-bands causing me to slow down.

FOLLOW THE SPEED LIMIT.....DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE....This IS the best radar detector ..... From the one that KNOWS

I've had an Escort 8500 x50 for 10 years now, still going strong. Honestly, this is probably one of the very best purchases I have ever made. Pays for itself the very first time it saves you a ticket.

Look at K40 they are great I sold them for over 15 years in our stores. They guarantee no tickets in your first year or they will pay it. I can vouch for that first hand. Love them

I have a 20 year old V1 and it still works for me. At the time, it was the best, bar none, but now it has a few decent competitors.

Anyway, one speeding ticket in 20 years, and that was because I was too inattentive to notice the cop pacing me. Nothing is foolproof, but this technique works for me. My nephew is a cop, he says "nine you're fine, ten you're mine." So I drive about 7 mph over the speed limit - until someone passes me. Then I match that person's speed at a safe distance, basically using them as a buffer. If the V1 lights up, I've got time to slow down, and the person I'm following gets nailed. This has happened at least a half dozen times. Also, I never go over 20 mph over the limit, that is a lot more trouble if you get caught. I don't need to hit a home run, a double works for me.

good info there, thanks...

Got caught going 55 in 35 cop gave me a warning since it was my first speeding ticket

Redline gets my vote, mine can be chatty in town but i tend to turn it off in town anyways. I just got it for my country commute.

Until the cop comes up behind you and clocks you from the rear of course.

Here in VA you're not a driver, you're a revenue opportunity. Not to mention radar detectors are illegal and the cops have detector detectors. Here was a State police bust right up the street from me. Only the mail truck and the Mercedes aren't cops. Explain to your buddies getting a ticket from the cop in the minivan :)

Escort, I've never wanted to deal with the false(extra) false alerts of a valentine.
Nor do I need to know which direction it's coming from. I'm going forward, if a radar gun was 1/8 mile behind me, my escort would have alerted me before I made it to that spot behind me, I'm focused on what's ahead.
