Best sealant for less than $20??

Just added 105 to my order. Thanks everyone :dblthumb2: (well maybe not because thats more money I had to spend ;))

Can I put DP Max Wax over the DG 105?

It looks good already on its own. I asked Gerry, the chemist/founder of Duragloss if it's okay to put wax on top and he said it would actually degrade the Duragloss underneath. You can layer 105 up to 3 times he says. Better yet, he said to top 105 with 111.

I think that is true - that the Collinites are waxes with the durability of a sealant. However, Autogeek has 476s and 915 listed with the carnauba waxes, while 845 is listed with the sealants. I don't know why this is. I have both 845 and 915. Haven't gotten to use 915 yet, but the 845 sure is holding up great.

I figured I might be missing something after using 845 for over 20 years and picked up some 915. Not as slick, the slickness and high-gloss shine don't seem to last as long and comparatively speaking, any paste is a PITA compared to the ease of 845. Sure is durable though. But then so is 845. :::shrug::::

I'm waiting for a reply from Collinite on some quizzicals re: topping sealants with 845 and whether it can truly be layored or whether the solvents make it self-stripping. I expect to post the reply in the thread that was discussing topping sealants with 845.

Collinite for a wax with a sealant like durability.

Or if you must have a sealant, then the 3M performance finish is good stuff. I helped my friend seal her car which lives outside 24/7 and we applied two layers, one week apart and it's still going strong several months later.

Thanks for the info. I just placed an order and threw in some 111.

I've used the Griot's Paint Sealant and think it works great. I haven't tried the others so I can't offer a comparison...just my experience with the Griot's.
