Hi - curious about what the consensus opinion is, for best paint sealant to use before applying the Blackfire Blackice wax.

I know about BF Crystal Seal paint sealant and have some on the way - but most sealants I've used before weren't just spray on and forget it, with no buffing.

I have a Metallic Steel (basically black) 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I will be claying it soon in early spring (done about 6 months ago previously) - then use the clay cleaner & extender, before applying whatever sealant seems best, before putting on a couple thin coats of the Blackice. I'd like to use my Flex 3401 to help apply the sealant at least.

Any suggestions appreciated & thanks in advance.

BF Crystal Seal -OR- BFWD

They have the same Polymer base and will work in conjunction with BFBI. BFWD being the more durable of the 2.

You're good to go with BF CS on the way. I layered BlackICE over the top of PBL Sealant, still beading and sheeting like crazy!

With a very dark vehicle, you might have to budget some time to polish off any micro-marring from the claying process. On my Black Challenger claying=following with a polishing step. There just weren't any other options after I got done.

Appreciate the feedback from all you guys, thanks!

aim4squirrels - no micro marring as I purchased the JGC Overland in late November 2013 & immediately clayed, sealed and waxed the vehicle.

I just thought with a great paint sealant, followed by a couple very thin applications of the Blackice wax - I could get a longer lasting but still deep wet shine.

I apply 3 coats on my mustang...

Waiting about 12 hours between coats?

One thing I really like about the BF CS is the cure time! 45 minutes is easy to work with.

Applied 2 coats first day, applied 3rd coat next day after about 16 hours. I use BF Midnight Sun QD and wow! I've been wanting to get BF Wet Diamond Polymer Spray but just haven't got around to getting some.
