Best spray wax?

Its that intense huh, whats it smell like?

Someone one time posted that it smells like over-ripened fruit (In a good way!) which may sound like a funny description but it is spot on. It smells so good!

BTW it is straight spray sealant.

Cg v7
Eco touch spray wax
Mothers fx spray wax

liquid souveran spray wax. If you use it regularly durability is never an issue.

Are these both similar as far as shine & protection? I keep hearing good things about these two, primarily Aquawax.

Optimum says it will last up to 5 months, Aquawax does not say how long it will last. Both can be applied in minutes and both have a very slick feel. The primary difference is that Aquawax can be applied while the vehicle is still wet and Optimum needs the unit dry. If time is the thing then Aquawax is faster. I applied the Duragloss twins last fall to my work truck and did Aquawax a couple of times thru the winter and the wash water is still beading. I like both, it just depends on how much time i have to which one i will use. If it matters my work is almost all gravel and off road.

I absolutely love D156. Good value and performance. Can be used in direct sunlight and doesn't dry white. Totally non streaking. Looks equally great on vinyl trim, textured or smooth. Gives glass a RainX effect without wiper chatter. Excellent gloss. Lasts for weeks.

FWIW, it is excellent around the home as well. Wife loves it on appliances, mirrors, shower doors, patio doors, fireplace glass, etc.

Last October (late) I applied Optimum Opti-seal (old version and not too sure there would be a difference if I'd have used the new version) to our ride. I topped OOS with Duragloss Aquawax and both were completely gone by the beginning of Febuary, and signs of waining were seen by the end of December (that's about a months worth of good protection, which I expected a bit more). Of course, that's during a winter where we've seen a considerable amount of salt used on the roads.

I almost forgot...that particular car got a paint cleaning with Duragloss 501/601 also. So in the grand scheme of things (3...actually 4 supposedly top quality products having been used) I'm not that impressed.

EDIT:
Then again in retrospect, this car only got hand washed twice (mid December before the first snow) with DG901 during this time. The rest of the winter the car seen only coin washes from a sprayer so as not to induce scratching. Car also sits outside 24/7 as well.

I did like using Aquawax and had no issues with streaking. Liked the smell also.

I will be doing a spring clean up very soon and will then get a better idea of how it last during warmer months. Still, considering the products I used, I was not impressed with product performance during colder months.

If you are indeed looking for a Wax, meaning carnauba, Optimum is the way to go. If you are looking for a sealant with wax in the name (but contains none) there are many to choose from. My choice there would be Aquawax or Meg's Ultimate Quik Wax.

I guess I'll be the first to say I'm not a huge fan of OCW. Not for any fault of the OCW, but rather because of where I live. I don't have a garage big enough to fit my Camaro and I live in SUNNY florida, so I get streaking all the time when I use OCW. The only way around it is to spray, then buff immediately. But the point of a spray wax is ease of use, so it fails for me there.

If you have a garage OCW is the way to go. Can't beat the durability.

If you have a DD outside in the sun, the way to go is Megs D156. Can't beat the ease of use.

Just my 2 cents :)

that's how i use it anyway, hehe! if the panel is warm though, you are definitely beat.

because i like coating, OCW is used in limited cases for me. what i do use often with coated cars, though, is his instant detailer at 4:1. i use it while drying. it kicks up the gloss and gives it that totally useless but terribly rewarding slick feeling which just makes me happy. the effort required over solely drying is nil so i do it.

anyway, that 4:1 instant detailer is perfect for removing any residual streaking or spotting from OCW. and at 4:1 it's cheap as heck, even cheaper than just hitting that area again with OCW.

Have you tried spraying the towel instead of the panel?

I love my optimum spray wax.

Very nice, I think I will pick some up this week. The fact that you can use it will the car is still wet is a plus, because then I can use it as a drying agent as well. Thanks for your input!

When car is wet use Griot's Spray Wax over wax LSP.
When car is dry use OCW over wax LSP.
When car is wet use AquaWax over sealant LSP.

D156 looks very simular to Aquawax which is great stuff. With the BOGO this fall I got UPGP and BFCS. These will be my new spray waxes.

This thread prompted me to go into the garage and give the Shelby a coat of D156 using my Adams double soft towels.

I love this stuff, so easy to use and no streaks, smells awesome, and what a shine.

Regardless of product, I noticed when using spray products I get my best results when using 1 towel to apply and 1 towel to buff.

Ocw is very good.......for a dry vehical......D156 is great also......AW is awsome.....wet or dry! they all run about the same cost by the gallon and you really can't go wrong using either of them.

FWIW I reach for AW 90% of the time.

I guess I will post too in a 432nd spray wax thread.

Wet=AW

Dry=OCW
