Best thing you learned from AG

Too many little and big tips and advice and videos to list. The most important thing to this newb is the willingness of folks that know a lot more than I do to happily and generously share their knowledge. Priceless.

Clay Bar. there is nothing like showing someone the effects of clay bar on their car. There's something about that face, when they see how much dirt is still on the car and how smooth that piece of clay can make the paint.

I also learned a ton from the instructional videos they had. I think I joined about 6 months to a year before Mike came and those videos are the reason I bought my pc7424. Since then Mikes articles on the Mind of a Professional Detailer, and advice on keeping things simple in your process, what you offer, and pricing have been invaluable. Not to mention all the great advice from all the forum members. Great stuff.:dblthumb2:

Best thing I learned....Its OK to buy two more jars of wax, even thou I have four here that have not been opened or tried yet. :)

I knew absolutely nothing about detailing and no rinse washing until I bought a black MDX last year and got a nasty big scratch on the side. Then I began googling, looking for a solution to remove it and found this website... The scratch is still there but you can see it only when you're really close and only from certain angles. Besides the big scratch, I also removed almost all swirls and learned not to take my car to automatic car washes :) ONR is the only way now.

That it's OK to buy more detailing supplies than I could use in two lifetimes!

I think I'd overload AG's servers if I tried to list every best thing I've learned here. I'll just echo silverfox - Mike P's articles and videos. :dblthumb2:

Collinite 845, PC7424, the entire Optimum line - found out about all of these essentials here.

Taping - 15 minutes of prevention vs. 150 minutes of cure.

4" pads - Love love love these little workhorses.

Mike P's expert advice - The internet's guru of detailing. He could easily write a 300+ page coffee table book filled with the lessons he's learned in his career.

Most noteworthy thing I've learned so far - as a noob to car detailing but not to bikes - is a detailing product collecting obsession. :) Especially brushes.

what i learned from here and mol is mike p is the man! and paint prep is the most important factor!

Many thingz- but more important found a group of people happy to help each other.

Very Nice.

i knew nothing much about detailing, i was very confused about wax, sealant, nano coats, orange peel, haze, streek, curing time.

detailing has become a new hobby.

i am still learning, hoping to post my own reviews some day on AG :)

i found out that i could do it myself. mike gave me the confidence and he provided the no how. he makes it seem so easy, that i went ahead, and after thinking about it for 6 months or so, bought a pc and some pads and i went to work. theres no looking back now. i absolutely love shining up my family's, and my car.
