Hi,

I live in Montreal (Canada) and I want your opinions on what would be the better time of year to apply Leatherique treatment (Rejuvenator) on my car leather.

For those who are not aware of the weather we have here in Montreal :caflag:, we have hot summers with more than 30 celsius regularly from May to September and very cold winters from December to March with -25 celsius temperatures regularly too.

I have an Acura TL 2006 with peforated leather and heating seats. I bought it this year and I don't know how the former owner took care of the leather but they seems in good condition.

I use Lexol 3 in 1 cleaner/conditioner every 1-2 month to keep my leather clean. I have read on the forums that applying Leatherique Oil rejuvenator once a year is a good thing to keep my leather in good condition.

I just want to know if it would be better to apply the treatment before the winter to keep the leather supple for the cold winter or is it better to do this in the spring to protect them from the sun and heat of the summer?

Thanks!

Apply it while the weather is still warm out. It will help it soak in better, to remove dirt, and soften more.

Or, you can heat the leather up with a hair dryer or heat gun before application -- just be careful not to get it too hot.

Most of what we do to protect our investments work better when it's warmer. Have you ever noticed that most things work better when the temps above 15C?

A heated garage or something similar is a Godsend during the cold and winter months. Generally 3 or 4 times throughout the winter I like to wash my car and truck then get them in the garage and crank up the wood-stove. Once it's warm I find polishes and waxes are allot easier to use...
