Best wax ever

I am looking for opinions on what you think the best carnauba wax is for black and white cars. I just bought the black fire black ice but have not used it yet. I have also used pinnacle series 2 paste wax and thought it did a nice job but i am looking for awesome. Please let me know your thoughts

In keeping with what I'm preaching here are a few more recommendations for you.

Sovereign - great wet looking wax on all colors, especially black. Super easy on and off. Durability is poor, but has a nice smell.

Fuzion - not good on black IMO. Gives a gloss but nothing else. However, red looks fantastic with it and gives it a very wet look. Never tried it with white. Smells nice and is fairly easy to remove.

Bouncers Capture the Rapture - super glossy, not much depth or wet look but sure makes black shine. Smells yummy and spreads easy. It's a little more difficult to remove than the previous two waxes.

Black Ice - I'm on the fence about this wax. I've only used it once and I was not impressed at first, but then a strange thing happened. After a few hours I inspected the car again and was amazed by the depth and gloss on it. I'm sure it was something to do with the polymers mixed with it. This wax smells bad and makes me wonder if I paid $150 for shoe polish. Not that easy to remove either but I think I put it on too thick so might be user error.

Prima Banana Gloss - not sure how much wax there is in this but that's how it's billed so I'll include it. This wax creates a very wet look on black paint (comparable to a glaze) and creates a decent gloss on white. This wax helps fill minor defects and can be used as a topper. If bananas smelled like this, monkeys would starve. Two weeks durability at best.

OD Deep Reflections - nicely priced unknown wax that gives a great warm gloss. Looks good on all colors and can make white look wet. Not the best smelling and has polymers so it lasts a good bit. Removal is fairly easy as well.

There's a few good waxes out of many. Hope it helps and keep experimenting whenever you can. There is no such thing as the best and it would be no fun if there actually was.

I'm interested in what some of the "new" products are that:
Not only what you think may be comparable to Meguiar's #26...
But also happens to be true.

Thanks.

Doesn't appear to me that any other car-care products' manufacturers/chemists/formulators are anywhere
near willing to step forward with the same, proven D.O.I. information as Meguiar's has done.

:)

Bob

Dunno for sure, but I'm guessing some that may contain banana oil may fit the bill.

I havent tried Back Fire Black Ice yet but I tried so far:

Meguiars #26
Malco Cherry Flash
Malco Enhancer Wax
Zymol Destiny
Zymol Atlantique
Swissvax Mirage
Swissvax Concorso
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Wolfgang Fuzion
Pinnacle Souveran Paste
Pinnacle Souveran Liquid
Pinnacle Signature Series II
Autoglym HD Wax

I found the most pleasant to use is the Souveran Paste wax for the ease of use. The best bang for the buck is Autoglym HD Wax but not very pleasant to apply and buff.

The best overall I tried is the Zymol Atlantique (60% carnauba) for how long the shine remains and the beeding and sheeting are out of this world. If you think that is way too expensive to get check the Zymol Sampler Kits. The Sampler kit # 2 contains 2oz of Concours, 2oz of Destiny and 2oz of Atlantique. For 200$ you end up with 6oz of high end wax which are totally unbeatable for that price IMHO.

I am extremely satisfied with Pinnacle's Signature II on both my silver and maroon metallic finishes. Both are now coated with Opti-seal and a Sig. II topcoat. Quality shine especially for a silver finish. The maroon vehicle possesses so much reflectivity and contrast that it almost appears black. Now that I think about it, the silver at times, appears white, but with both cars, when the sun is directly upon it, the reflections are gone and flecking really pops through. I could be more pleased with this combination.

Enjoy your quest..........elliot

If anyone is interested, I'll be reviewing Concorso/Best of Show and comparing it to Souverän. I just need more time with the product.

I probably shouldn't post it here, so it will be on PBMGs Autopia and L2D

Threads like these can impart passion, sort of like Audio geeks.

If you have the money, then by all means do try some of the estate-beauty waxes if you want a wax.

Some years ago, an acquaintance I know had his Mercedes Coupe Repainted. With a bit of body work to boot, I bet the Paint Job cost him a good $9-10K. I seen the car, and looked like he had it done very right, at a shop 100 miles from here.

He picked my brain for suggestions, not that he ever took any advice I ever offered on anything, and when I suggested products either like Collinite, or perhaps look to somebody like Zaino if he wanted a sealant, he was just about downright insulted, and belittled me for insulting his intelligence. It was like "How dare you suggest I use a $16 Can or Bottle of Collinite on my beloved MB, and as for Zaino, it's a Polish, I don't want any abrasives!" He never read past the first sentence from Zaino's website, in that none of the pure Sealants they make contain abrasives of any sort.

So, he chose a Zymol Paste, since his car was German, only logical to choose a German Paste Wax right?, so he bought himself this tiny little jar for $50 was going to apply it the old fashioned Zymol way, by bare hand, and thus the world was right again in his mind.

Another online acquaintance I know, who owns a new red Ferarri 458 Italia started with Zymol Ital. Since this product was supposedly specifically made for the soft paint Ferarris are noted for. I understand just recently, he's become a Wolfgang Fuzion Convert.

I hope you haven't minded the passion of us members, and my rattling on about a couple little stories.

Please do stick around, there's lots here, worth the read, and studying.
And literal boatloads of very fine products, and first rate service to be had from the AG online stores.

Have fun!

I think what happened with my pal with the 458 Ferarri, (on my personal recommendation), came to this site, saw the beauty shots of a drop dead gorgeous dripping wet, mile deep finish Red Ferarri 430 that was "Fuzioned", and said to himself "That wax is for me!"

It appears he made no mistake!
