Some of you may remember my last post about a DA polisher and swirl remover. I have decided to go with a swirl remover from Wolfgang... but anyways, on to the wax.

I've been using Pinnacle's SSII wax for a while now, but it's getting a bit low. (I charge friends and neighbors to use it, and it goes away fast) So, I'm on the market for another wax at the moment. I'm sure Souveran is exceptional, but I'm not up for paying almost $100 for a wax, especially when my first DA is on the horizon. With a budget of $50, based on your experience, is there a wax out there that provides a deeper, darker red shine than SSII?

I've been reading that SSII is formulated towards metallic paints, not so much for dark paints. That makes me wonder what could be better for the money and my car color. I'm looking for the darkest, wettest shine possible on Red. I used Pinnacle's Paintwork cleansing lotion before ever wax, so plenty of prep goes into this too. =D

Thanks!!

Myles

Hey Myles,

I really like using Blackfire Midnight Sun. It is extremely easy to use. It is more than $50 but it is well worth it.

I really like Blackfire products myself. I just bought a bottle of their Wet Diamond Polymer spray and it's my new favorite spray. This is definitely a contender for my next wax, even if it comes in a little over budget. If nothing else below $50 comes up, this is it!

Thanks for the suggestion!

Try Pete's 53
Or lava
Or 50/50
You don't be let down

+1 on M26. Not much better out there for the price. Readily available for the most part as well.

As a matter of fact, I actually have an old bottle of M26 left in my garage. I used to use that all the time! I do agree, I really like that wax. I didn't know there was a paste version of it on the market though, so I may have to get that. I switched to Pastes a little while back.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Myles S.

I'm still very new but I have had good luck with Pete's 53' on every color I've tried in on. I might go with Blackfire once it runs out just to try something else.
