Best Wax/Sealant For Black Car

So if you apply with a buffer isnt that going in a circular motion? Do the swirls come from the way you apply or remove the product? And what about QD's? Do you wipe them on the same way and avoid going in a circular motion as well so you dont get swirls?

Sometimes you can get grit, sand, dirt, or a spec of anything in your buffer pads and then its swirls........after removing swirls all day, that's the last thing you need, more swirls.........

Q.D. always by hand not circular......

There is no need to make a swirl :p I MEAN circular motion on your car with any product!;) Back and forth is safe and achieves the same results. IMO

:iagree: final product always by hand

So what I should really do is put away my Orbital Buffer unless I am going to use a polish or a glaze. And try not to do anything in a circular motion....

And that's from the real boss of A.G.:righton:

The one coat of wax/sealant that I have on the car so far was with Meguiar's Tech Wax...From what I was reading it has some fillers and polish in it..Does that mean that this is best applied by machine?

YES! THE P.C is great for polishing glazing and swirl removing.......others may differ, but i prefer hand waxing.:)

YOU COULD, YES! with a finishing pad.......some do for even and thin coverage. if its best?? i'd say ether, IMHO?? NXT?? by hand, back, n, forth, up, n, down,..........:) REMEMBER its a wax first........

why is it better to apply going front to back, then up and down and not in a circular motion?

To reduce swirling..............wax application......

Wont applying front to back and top to bottom cause lines instead of swirls?

Not that im aware of.......

why would a circular motion cause swirls and a top to bottom, front to back not cause anything?

Its about the wind while driving flowing over the hood, roof, and rear lid, less chance of swirls with a straight wax strokes compared to circles all about path of air flow......

So if that is the case why would you go top to bottom on the sides of the car instead of front to back also? Hope Im not asking too many question....

Thanks a good one i may be off base on that one, it may be front to back all over......

KILLRWHEELS will tune in to this one i hope..........;)

the easiest rule of thumb is to follow the way air flows against and around the car. I wax/seal from front to back on top and sides. Going up and down would give me a hernia. I got a little garden chair on wheels, and I work panel to panel back and forth. The reason, circles and scratches are much more apparent when going diagonally or circular, and nobody can truly control a small piece of sand that might have blown in.

Thanks Killr for clearing that up...........
