I just ordered some Poor Boys APC and I have some microfiber rejuvenator that a friend gave me and I'm curious to see what is the best way to wash my microfibers. Since I spent a lot of money on my towels, I don't want to mess them up. When I get my APC do I just use that in the washing machine or do I add a laundry detergent with that? If so, what is a good detergent to use? I know that I only wash microfibers with microfibers. Do I wash them on hot or cold? How do I try them. In the dryer or hang them up? If I dry them in the dryer, what is the best setting for drying? Any information that you have would be great. Thanks.

The search feature is your friend ... this is talked about a lot on this forum...

Some tips though-
-You can soak very dirty towels in water & APC mix ahead of time
-You can add a few oz of ATC or Oxyclean in the washing machine
-Wash in hot water
-Let soak if possible
-Any detergent w/out fabric softener or scent would be best
-Dry in dryer for a few minutes and then let air dry

Buy a bottle of microrestore, keep mf towels segregated from laundry at all times, and kiss wife after doing the laundry (and towels) for you !

Great to see you here Rob, get ready to spend more money!!!

I use micro restore with hot water and setting the agitator on delicate. Sometimes I let it soak in the washer first. This process is for my paint MFs only. I dry them in the dryer on low for 90 minutes if the Guzzler is in it as well, then I hang dry them and leave over night. For grunge towels (wheels, door jams, etc), I use a bucket for this with micro restore. I leave them over night, then I empty the bucket, put fresh water, and put the towels in the fresh water to rinse out the micro restore solution. I then hang dry these so I won't contaminate the dryer.

I wash my MF towels by hand with neutral soap and they are always like new.

has anyone found a way to keep a ring of dirt/grease from forming on the inside of the washing machine? I had this happen for the first time last week and the wife was not happy lol.. thanks

Happens to me with terry cloths on tires. I wipe the drum with paper towels afterwards.

I use method liquid free and clear. Have never had any problems. Fluffy and clean.

We go through a lot of microfiber towels here at the Autogeek Garage, in fact I'm going to be washing and drying microfiber towels all day after Nick and Ray were working on cars while Yancy and I were in Nebraska, like this one...

97 GMC Jimmy Correction (Multiple Rayviews)

My standard protocol is pretty simple,

I sort microfiber towels into like groups and then wash them as dedicated groups on the setting for whites/cotton on the Hot/Cold setting. If this washing machine had the setting for Hot/Hot or Hot/Warm I would use that because I believe hot water helps to remove any liquefied substance off of an out of cloth than cold water. (I could be wrong but it makes sense at face value).

I use Detailer's Microfiber Cleaner

I dry on the "Normal" setting

Fold and store in a cabinet to keep them clean

Microfiber towels with a large, fluffy nap I fold the fluffy side in and have the weave side facing outward.

I'll take some pictures today if anyone is interesteed...

thanks for replies! so hot water is ok? good to know. I thought you had to use warm, cold..

Ironically I tried to wash them with blackfire for the first time and that's when it happened.

Now, maybe it has something to do with the fact my last two blackfire products came cracked and the product is slowly leaking out of the bottle (not sure if the liquid settles and I'm missing part of formula).

I never mentioned it to AG because I noticed it after we moved (had orders I never opened up since I knew I was moving).. hurricane, happened while moving, etc.. I threw both bottles away so I'm back to the Pinnacle.

and pictures of your process would be great :)
