Best way to remove Collinite 915 wax??

Ok, I have finally popped the lid on a can of Collinite 915 Marque D' Elegance Wax and gave it a try. Instructions say to let it dry to a haze, which I did, but it was a BEAST to remove. I of course waxed my whole car and came back later to remove. Is the best way to do a panel at a time and remove before it dries? Or can you let it dry to a haze and still have an easier time removing? Thanks.
 
What I've found with all Collinite waxes is they need to be applied VERY thin otherwise they become very difficult to remove.

I apply 98% of all sealants and waxes with my Porter Cable 7424 dual action polisher. This allows me to really spread the wax scary thin, which is ample, so it can properly haze and is easy to remove.

You can of course apply them with a foam pad but thin is in regardless...
 
First, make sure the paint is perfectly clean and smooth as this is a "finishing wax" and should only be used on paint in excellent condition.

Second, practice applying a VERY thin coating.

Forth, once you have the car coated and the wax has dried to a haze, break open a small area on a waxed panel using your best microfiber towel folded 4-ways and then creep out from this spot taking small bites of wax off using a overlapping circular motion with your hand.

Also fold your microfiber towels four ways and wear microfiber gloves.

One panel at a time for me and very thin or it is impossible. Do it right and the results (look and durability) are really worth it.

Thanks all. I see the two big mistakes I made. I haven't waxed my car in 3 months (please don't kick me off this forum) and put this on first. I will make sure to use it as a finishing wax next time and use my PCXP to spread it thin. Thanks!
 
like them already told you....apply any collinite product very very thin. i used to hate my life when i put on too much of 476 and spent over an hour removing it. not I use alot less product and removal is a breeze.

Do the Baggie Test and since you have a Porter Cable, apply a fine cut polish before applying the wax to perfectly prepare the paint to accept the wax and to also ensure it's completely clean, clear and smooth.

Automotive detailing is as much of an art as it is science.

Developing the skill and technique takes time and these are the little tips that can make life a lot easier for you and bring that finish to the next level.

While sealing and waxing are important washing is equally if not more important.
 
Like everybody has said, prep is KEY also applying in such thin amounts that you can almost barely see it is the best way. Colly 845 is similiar in that if it isnt applied extremely thin then its a bear to remove.
 
I applied 915 to my wife's GMC Acadia about 1 1/2 weeks ago. While I was aware this needs to be applied very thin, the directions on the can stated to use a damp towel or applicator. That made sense so I went that route and applied by hand. I used a damp MF applicator and applied it, maybe 25 min. later I was done with the whole vehicle. I didn't run into any problems removing a barely visible haze. Once you have the technique down this is a keeper for sure so stay the course and continue to practice weekly on a panel.
