Best wheel sealant.

gonna cast my vote for cg wheel guard, as its the only "wheel wax" I have

ironically, I have signature series II on my wheels currently as wheel guard is 100% synthetic and my wheels are on the tail end of curing so i went with a pure nuba

I used KHGS for my alum wheels. Now instead of having to use a wash mit I shoot it down with my water hose and almost all the dirt comes off!!

Im thinking of just trying some bfwd on them.

I have tried many products and I keep coming back to the wolfgang concours metal sealant. It is easy to apply and last very long! I haven had anything last nearly as long. I am currently doing a test with exo vs wgms on some summer wheels that belong on my truck. The wgms is pricey but a little goes along way:)

if not using a coating I would suggest Rejex. its lasts longer than just about every other sealant and is designed to work on many different surfaces. Like Glass, acrylic, metal and plastic. while other sealants can be used on these areas as well, rejex ime is better because it never leaves an oily surface on glass for example.

I've heard good things about Rejex.
That's what I'll be putting on hopefully this weekend.

:iagree: Rejex works great. Keeps the wheels slick and makes the brake dust easy to wipe off.

I wouldnt recommend EXO for wheels. While EXO has amazing properties, alkaline cleaners strip it off with ease. So if you clean your tires with an APC and it runs off onto the wheel with exo applied, you will either seriously degrade it, or remove it completely. I learned from experience. I was actually pretty shocked how delicate exo is when it comes to alkaline products. Now if you top it up every month you will be in great shape. It also repels dirt like crazy. but I would suggest something like Carpro Dlux or Cquartz UK. Also Gtechniq's wheel armor works really well, but I just find that the carpro coatings are easier to work with. especially the Dlux for wheels. Pretty foolproof and really richens up the surface. even on matte black without making it glossy.

oh, almost forgot.... Sonax Polymer Net Shield ! This stuff is a dream to apply on surfaces like wheels. Its also VERY durable against chemicals. maybe moreso than exo when it comes to wheel cleaners (with high PH). very easy to apply and at a great price. another product with some self cleaning properties. although Sonax is very short on providing solid information on the product... application is easy but wipeoff is a little grabby like all the other coating products (minus EXO).

Been using Rejex on my uncoated, polished aluminum rims. Still looking good after 2 months.

The rejex you guys are using for the wheels is just the paint sealant?

I have been using Meguiar's #21 synthetic sealant for wheels for a few years now. Looks great, super slick, easy to apply / remove, lasts quite a while, and I don't have to carry around another product :)

I do mine with a coat of Klasse High Gloos Sealant. Last a long time and repels brake dust.

I noticed the exo did not have a kind reaction to my chrome wheels. I want to strongly believe it was due to the fact the surface temp wasn't above 20 degrees c. The water repellent properties seemed to deminish. I have wolfgang metal sealant on my bumper of my truck for about 6 months now. It still beeds. I haven't tried rejex but I am very tempted to. The acrylic formula in the wolfgang product helps the shine pop also.

Anyone have an opinion on poorboys wheel sealant? I have a jar but would like something a little quicker/easier to apply to my summer wheels. The dlux work on clear coated wheels?

Plus one for Rejex. A little finicky to remove after applying in colder temps but I find the brake dust seems to just hose off with ease if reasonably maintained. Apply thin like 845 and all is well.
