Best window cleaner on the market???

I have been pleased with Stoner's Invisible Glass. Easy on and off and streak free. I use regular microfiber towel.

I've always had a terrible time getting windows cleaned. Window cleaners would always streak and some of the "gunk" would never totally come off the glass.

After a pure desperate attempt to clean the inside windows when traveling to visit family, I tried a can of Sprayway Glass Cleaner found collecting dust on a shelf in my father-in-laws's garage. The stuff works great in cutting through grime and it doesn't streak. The best of all it's cheap and can be found all over the place.

If the window is quite bad then I hit it with steam first while I am cleaning the interior. Then I will use a good quality glass cleaner like Stoners. Believe it or not but the newspaper trick does work. Don't use paper that has any color printing on it.

I am going to get yelled at for this but I have used multiple OCT cleaners and have found that Windex works best for me. I do not however reccomendation this unless you know it is safe for your windows. I know it is for mine but I can damage many other car windows.

The Auto Finesse Crystal Glass Cleaner is excellent.
Sprayer lays down a very fine mist and it does not streak.

Invisible Glass works good. And believe it or don't, use crumpled up newspapers as a rag. I am a crane/heavy equipment operator, so I have cleaned plenty of windows in my time.

Hahaha I do the same thing works awesome actually. Old man taught me that trick. Every time I detail a friend's car and they see the news paper they freak out and I am like just watch.

Stoner's works well for me, usually 1st pass is to break the crud free and second application cleans it up nicely, flip the cloth to buff. First pass I use something with some texture (newspaper, long nap MF) and second pass gets a short nap glass MF.

I'm currently using Megs D120. It's working well for me. For cleaners you can find at the local store, my favorite is Sprayway Glass Cleaner. I think it is better than the seemingly more popular Stoner Invisible Glass.

There are a lot of good ones...

Spray Way
Meg's GC concentrate
Poorboy's
Mothers

The only one I really did not like was CG's Glossworkz. It just streaked for me.

The real key as said earlier is technique - like using the two towel method.

Thanks for all the responses. I used to use the newspapers until I tried the MF towels. I may go back to paper though as I can get a huge stack free of the thrifty nickel paper.

I find that windows rarely need any dedicated window cleaner if you dry them properly after a wash. The key is use a primary towel to remove most water left on the windows followed up by a secondary towel to buff away anything left over. If you are not washing the car and just wiping windows, this technique is golden and will not be biased towards any particular window cleaner.

CarPro fast glass towels for me. Wet them with distilled water wring out really good and wipe down the windows. No streaks no chemicals. But if you want a chemical Stoners Invisible Glass always worked for me.

Works as long as your paper hasn't changed to Soy based ink like the one here.

I love Sprayaway @ Target, super cheap and awesome!

The best that I have used is Stoner Invisible Glass with a black & white newspaper. :xyxthumbs:

+1 for fast glass and similar towels. It will be the cheapest long term and they do an amazing job.

Since this product removes all the crap that's thrown at the windshield year 'round...

One of the cheapest (~$1.00), for the exterior auto-glass surfaces, is the blue stuff in the gallon jug they sell for the windshield washer reservoir.

Dilute it to around 3:1 for even more economy!
Use with waffle-weave glass towels.
