Best Winter Sealant Durability?

Putting aside the Collinites, I have a hard time believing that BFWD+AGHD is going to give you better durability than two coats of BFWD. Maybe it will, but I'm still going with Wet Diamond.

There is a new coating, Cquartz and its spray companion that are said to be amazing. Unlike Opti Coat, it is sold to the public. Just arrived last weekk.

BFWD is the first sealant I've ever tried and I love it! Easy on and easy off! The shine is amazing! I put one coat on my DD 350Z and it lasted a good 5 months. And that includes washing it once a week. I just got done this past week putting another fresh coat on my 350Z and Escape. I must mention how slick it is too. I went to get in my Z after work and noticed a nice size berry filled bird dropping on my hood. I pulled out of the parking lot and it literally flew off my hood! Of course there was a spot I had to wipe off when I got home but it was still pretty funny/amazing! So, we'll see how it does through winter!

I agree its an awesome sealant but WGDGPS gets pretty much the same reviews as BFWD. I like Wolfgang better because of less dusting. Well that and it just sounds way cooler then blackfire wet diamond :D

I've heard great reviews about WGDGPS too! I've had no dusting problems with the BFWD

Black fire doesn't dust at all

I have been through this many times and even proved in a video that it in fact does dust.

As Forrest Gump would say "And that's all I have to say about that"

Whatever dude

LOL so you can honestly watch that video and tell me there is no dusting... Sorry to disappoint you "dude" but I'm not the only one to have dusting problems with BFWD.

Both are great, and I like using them both. For me the slight nod goes to BFWD, though. It seems to be more slick and applies and removes easier. And seriously, what about "Wolfgang" sounds better than "Blackfire"?

You seem pretty convinced this is true although I don't recall a huge difference between WGDGPS and BFWD's dusting myself. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since I can't remember. When the weather is nicer again I would like to do a comparison. Other sealants I've used like DP and DG 105 had a little dusting, too. Isn't that to be expected when you're buffing off a layer of sealant?

I think that video is pretty clear indication that BFWD dusts for you (for whatever reason). I've used it and had no dusting, but one can never tell what variables might change a particular products properties (temp, humidity, amount of product used etc...).

Like you I also like WG DGPS but I give an edge to BFWD for ease of use.

845 gets my vote....may or not be the most durable... u guys can do ur tests to determine that......but I can say that it salt and road grime rinse off of 845 better than anything else I have tried!!

No question, for my money...Collinite products....I use #915...it has the same protection of #845, but looks better and...does it ever last a long time, and goes a long way. It doesn't take much, and its best applied very thin with a machine. Just wipe off immediately, and do one panel at a time.

Wipe off immediately???? Where did u get that info from? Collinite tells u to let it dry to haze! So if u think it last long now, wait till u let it haze over and remove, then you will really be impressed!!

I'm absolutely impressed with the Optimum line including the Opti-Seal. Very easy to apply as a wipe on and walk away. Very forgiving on non-metallic parts (trim, etc). Throw 845 on after and maintain with Optimum QD an OSW and I think you'll be pleased. Good luck!
