Best/Worst Car Options

After driving a basic loaner yesterday I decided there are several car options that I must have to enhance my driving experience. It was actually deflating driving the loaner and couldn't wait to get my ride back. Getting high-maintenance in my old age...

Also some that I don't or not sure.

Best (Not necessarily in order)

Satellite Radio (good to get artist names to download later)
Navigation (helped me countless times)
Larger rims/wheels
Leather interior
Power adjusted seats
Upgraded radio/speakers
Heated seats (would love cooling ones too)
Power tilt and telescopic steering wheel
Power Moonroof
Power rear window sunshade (greatly helps in summer)
Tinted windows
Bluetooth
Bi-Xenon headlamps (what a difference in brightness at night!)
Folding down rear seats
All-wheel drive
Homelink (for garage door)
Ambient interior lighting (looks cool and does come in handy)

Don't need

Keyless entry and start
CD changer (hardly use since getting Satellite)
Rear view camera (probably good on SUV)
Heated steering wheel
Lane assist warning or notifier when driving too close
Paddle shifters on steering wheel (drive in S mode when feeling frisky)
Voice recognition

Not sure

Adjustable suspension (never had it so don't know)
Ipod interface (listen to it enough at the gym)

don't need keyless entry? i certainly would want that no matter what considering how convenient and common it is!

If it has a powerful engine, a grabby clutch, a GOOD shifter/manual tranny, A/C, and a decent sound system, I'm happy. Power steering, brakes, windows, locks and keyless entry are a plus too, LOL.

In all honesty, air conditioned seats, backup camera, heated steering wheel, navigation etc do nothing for me...and that is why I don't drive a luxury car. I can't understand why people who don't travel use navigation. It's safe to say that most people know their areas fairly well...I have never gotten lost but I'm pretty good with directions. My .02.

probably should be more specific--options i'm willing to pay for versus just fine living without it--and the cost

these are items i've used and loved having is all...the very basics would be (besides the typical a/c) bluetooth, satellite, moonroof and leather. those are definitely MUST HAVES--oh and memory for the driving position. nothing makes me crazier than having to readjust the seat after someone else has driven it

isn't the bold text considered keyless entry?

hmm, im might be misunderstanding your definition of keyless entry then. to me, keyless entry typically means you can use a fob to automatically unlock a door to get in. you don't need a key to manually unlock the door.

keyless is walking up to the car with fob in your pocket. it automatically unlocks the door when you touch the door handle and you then press a button to start the engine...at least that's what i was referring to.

In Texas I would think remote start in summer would be nice. Here in Iowa when it was -20 below last winter a remote start was almost a necessity.

I had a HUD (Heads Up Display) in my last two Vettes, and I love it. I think more manufacturers should put the guages on glass in common site of driver, heck I dont even look down to change radio/cd on the new Vettes HUD. Keyless entry a must ....push button start, a true gimmic.

Xenon lights is a must!!!:righton: I don't understand why Ford still makes Mustangs with those candle light...you can't see anything with halogen...and it looks so ugly...I prefer projector style xenons.

leather, well I have leather in 3 out of 4 cars that I had and love it. Yes, it heats up during summer, that' why I don't have black leather...

Intelligent key/keyless go/engine start is also very nice, but I would say not very necessary. I like that Acura had that standard, I'd have to pay $1-1.5k on other makes for this option.

Voice recongition is also very nice option, along with Bluetooth phone hook-up...you can finally hear, no matter how loud it is outside...

navigation system is not a must on a daily driver, unless your job requires travelling, but still should be fitted on a family/weekend car. you will find it very usefull when going to another city/state. I would never go to San Francisco without it.

Sunroof is a must for me! Just like power windows! All my cars have a sunroof.

Heated steering wheel - never had that option...

Heated seats - if your interior is leather, consider this option, you won't regret it when it's cold.

Head up display - never had it.

back up camera - a must for SUV!

I wish more and more luxury cars would offer air suspension! I love it on the S-class, but that car is so expensive!
