I've now used both of these products. While they are both WOWA products, extremely easy to use, and provide great results-- upon applying, the two products feel about as different to me as alcohol and oil. To those that say they're similar in that regard, I wholeheartedly disagree. The UPGP is really thin/watery and flashes almost instantaneously (kinda like alcohol). Conversely, the Crystal Seal feels almost oily when spreading, although it too eventually flashes (just not as fast as the UPGP).
The final results of the two products are similar. Super glossy, slick, and hydrophobic. But I personally liked applying the Blackfire CS much better. With the UPGP, I'm constantly fighting myself to not apply more product. When it flashes so quickly, it's almost impossible for me to not feel the need to go back and apply more product. It takes some faith and self-control. The CS, on the other hand, remains on the surface just long enough to finish an entire panel. It left me feeling confident (and knowing) that I hit the entire surface, no more, no less.
That said, I know I never missed any areas with the UPGP, but I also know I over applied it (which seemingly had no ill-effects whatsoever). They're both great products, but I gotta give the nod to the Crystal Seal.
Just a fun side note-- after doing the paint with the Crystal Seal, I moved to the passenger and rear glass. When wiping the MF applicator on the glass, the amount of static electricity observed was **ABSOLUTELY INSANE**. It seriously sounded like a mic-ed and amplified bowl of rice crispies! In all my years of detailing, I've never experienced ANYTHING even remotely like this before. And it wasn't just the initial swipe (of course, I just had to keep swiping). What in the world is going on here?!?
