My buddies wife's SUV. Hasn't been polished since new. It's an 08 with 90K miles on it. Of course with 4 kids it's going to be a mess. And it is.

Hood and front bumper were toughest followed by roof. I need a damn garage to do this in. Sun was killing me today. Black/Sun don't mix well.

I foamed it. IronX front wheels. Forgot to do the rears. That will happen tomorrow. Scrubbed down with Megs shampoo. Did a few test spots. Car needed a whole compound with Megs ultimate. Then some swirl remover. Stuff I have I don't like or I'm not doing it right. I was using a grey pad to try to remove swirls. Not aggressive enough I guess. Then some Meg's carnuba wax. Not a fan of how it came out. Still need to do the interior. I worked on from 8am-3pm.

We have a hand me down 04 expedition. I feel your pain. When we first picked it up the car was very neglected, I spent 2 days on it and was still not happy. It's about time to get after it again. Thankfully it's medium blue not black.

I wouldn't have given a friend discount on that lol. But great work.

What polish?

Nice work! I hate those stupid stickers, the more stickers the worse the inside is.

I have a customer that has a black Lincoln Navigator. I feel your pain. Good work! That clay is NASTY!

Looks great. At least spend $100 on one of those canopies! Harbor freight had a 10x20 for 100. Get yourself some shade

As some one who is not very tall I hate doing over sized SUVs. Overall it looks like you did a great job. When someone keeps their car in that kind of condition im sure just by washing and vacuuming it they would be thrilled. I'm sure they are elated with the work you did :dblthumb2:

I did a barter deal. I do the SUV, he pumped my septic tank. Thinking I should ask for a 2nd pump next year as well. lol.

Yea, that was after I clayed the back door. It has overspray all over it. Not sure from what.

That clay is a few years old. I think it's either Zaino or the old Tropi-Care line. Has worked wonders. Always gets the bad stuff out.

OK off to do the window's before the sun comes up. Then I can start to tackle the rest of the interior. This should be a BLAST! :D

Here is the perspective from someone who is tall, I hate doing over sized SUVs. I guess something's don't change with height.

I know this is above what you've got planned for the job but these oversized SUVs (and mini-vans) are perfect candidates for Opti-coat on the roof. That was a big job for using clay, maybe look into getting Autoscrub it will be a big time saver.

So very true on the sticker quote. :xyxthumbs:

I look forward to seeing the finished Picts. Looks good so far, great mirror finish on a neglected vehicle. :xyxthumbs:

Any sun shots?? Reflections are nice but you can have swirls and still get reflections tht are good

Looking good! What a trainwreck to start with! Lol

I'm not a fan of large SUV's and trucks either for my lack of height. Sometimes it takes all I have to get the roof washed and clayed.

Knocked out an all black Cadillac Escalade ESV yesterday and have an H2 on the books this week so I feel your pain!!!

Looks great from what I saw.

I'm 6', and the top of my truck is still a pain. Even the Pacifica is easier with a small ladder or Werner platform.

about done and yes looking at the hood there are LOTS of swirls. The hood is a lost cause I'm thinking. The paint just seems very thin or soft.

Few more pics. Interior is about done. I don't think it was ever vac'd. Ugh....or anything cleaned for that matter.

I never realized how nice it must be to have a friend with such detailing skills...hes one lucky friend! Definitely take him up on two or three septic jobs after this endeavor lol

well they just picked it up. They were happy. I wasn't. But I guess no car is ever going to be perfect. 90K hard miles in MA in all weather with 4 kids and never taken care of I guess it did come out ok. Thanks for the compliments all. I'm always my toughest critic.
