Big test of sealants and waxes...

Thanks for a great presentation , you really put a lot of effort into this , I think you prolly had fun doing it too...:D....I will continue to follow the thread..:dblthumb2:

There was a huge test like this on another forum. Wolfgang, Zaino and I believe one other survived the longest.

On the sealant side..... which one in order seems to be holding up the best to worst?

In my opinion: V07 is gone (it's not a surprise), Jestseal is going to gone (a little surprise) and the rest is still strong. I like sheeting from FK 1000p and slickness from Menzerna. Within a few months we will see what is best on this (and so prepared) car (and on second one).

Hello..A wonderful work u have done there..I am actually looking for a wax/sealant for my new white car..The plan is to clay and apply dodo lime prime and apply a coat of a wax/sealant..
Which product do u suggest for a white car that can give a better depth and gloss?

Try FK 1000p or Gtechniq C2V3. I think you will be happy.
Before sealant and after DD LP I suggest that you use Eraser or IPA or Panel Wipe or something like this to wipe off all panels.

Thanks for your prompt response. If I use Eraser or Panel Wipe after Dodo Lime Prime, wont the polishing oils and abrasives in the Lime Prime gets removed?

Also,,do u think that a couple of coats CG Pete's 53 can bring a better depth and gloss on white color ? Most of the reviews CG Pete's 53 I came across were only on dark colors.

That is the point. LP should remove minor paint imperfections - if you use it correctly, and oils are an unnecessary addition.

I don't know.

I don't know.

If we are topping up LP with a wax, is it necessary to use Eraser? I was thinking that the polishing oils in LP definitely add a better gloss to the paint and set a base layer for the wax.

You may be right, but I always use Eraser (or some equivalent) after each step, which task is to remove some paint. I'm not using too much waxes and I do not really know them - I prefer sealants, nano and coatings.

Last Sunday we washed iQ together with Colin, checking whether security products are still operating.
Just like on my Jazz majority have disappeared or you can not see if they work (just do not shed water).

Quite well holds only:
Swissvax Shield, ie still sheds water quickly.

Some signs of life shows (in order of "strength" of the action):
Polish Angel Concours de Beauty,
Zaino Z2 (+ ZFX),
and (to my surprise) CG 109 Jetseal.

On wheels, in a visible manner to the eye, works only:
Swissvax Autobahn
but all four wheels has washed up easily, so it is possible that the products work but still only have ceased to show how they work ;)

This test also we finish, that is is unlikely to be more updates.
