Boss , How do you take care of that edges of emblems ??? and how to get the embedded dirt off from those hard to reach areas like inside and corners of emblems ???

Sir , Please Reply !!!

You can try a detailing brush sprayed with some QD spray or spray wax. Then dab with a clean MF.

I tape emblems off as good as I can, then I clean them out with various small brushes and cotton swabs.

Yeah, nah. I wouldn't be removing any emblems. Like crash said, tape them off as well as you can, then get any residual polish/wax later with a brush.

Looks good!

And the way it sounds, I'm glad I'm not on any other forums. So you people are stuck with me, lol.

SO.... Got the Cobra looking all super sick today! Washed it when Colin (owner of the car) got here, then waxed the whole car and one half of the hood with Zymol Royale and the other half of the hood with Wolfgang Fuzion. I did this as a test to see really what the Royale is all about. My honest opinion is I don't expect it to be anything different then the Fuzion in terms of durability, I know there sure wasn't a difference in appearance, but I expected that so no real surprise there.

After the wax was applied ( I let Colin try it out too on a panel just to see the difference between a wipe on wipe off wax and regular Mothers / Meguiar's stuff... he liked the good stuff ) I set out to work on the wheels, I used my cordless drill, a Mother's Powerball Mini and some very fine polish to brighten them up a bit, then coated them with some Meguiar's #21 synthetic sealant. Final step was dressing the wheel wells and tires - tires got Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance gel and the wheel wells got some Meguiar's tire shine foam spray.

Enough of the babbling on, I know what you all want to see 8) All pics are taken using my cell phone with zero editing, there is a few at the bottom though that were taken using the HDR Camera app just for fun though.

And now, make sure to have a drool cloth ready, I will not be held responsible for damaged electronics due to drool.... for those issues you can talk to Colin, it's his car ;D

These last few were taken using the HDR Camera app on my phone. Sure, they are exaggerated, but they look really badass LOL

Oh, the guy on the SVTP forums is STILL insisting that I am a hack detailer, even went as far as to PM the owner and tell him he got ripped off! Saying that the haze around the sun in my pics is micro marring and that I am a hack detailer that covered up my crap work with a glaze. Wow is about all I can say LMAO! Pics were taken with a two year old CELL PHONE camera, of course they aren't going to be as good of quality pics as some of the other pics seen around here :dblthumb2: Bottom line is we were not going for ABSOLUTE perfection here, just looking for most of the nasty stuff out and leaving the RIDS alone and that is exactly what we did. There is no hazing, no micro marring, no holograms... just crisp clean reflection the way it should be!

The car looks good, and the owner is happy. Photo's sometimes can only show so much. I believe the guy the is making the harsh comments over there is a member here too. But, he also has a buisness... maybe he is trying to upsell his work by bashing someone else's. Who know's?

Yea, I found out through some searching he is a member here and from what I can tell even though he hasn't been active in a while he was an upstanding member here and on another forum I am on as well. I really just think that the comments the owner of the car made about what I told him (he sort of mixed things up a bit) and the cell phone pics instead of from a high quality camera just really made this guy think that I was some hack detail shop instead of a quality driven hobbyist. Oh well, I know my work is good and so does everyone else around that has seen it!

I just went and read the post. One guy tried to recruit a customer, the other guy basically says on the side job guys are screwing out of buisness on a 800-1300 detail. This car is daily driven I assume? Not a full on show car right? You could have spent 200 hours perfecting it and it still would be swirled again soon based on the OP's mentioning of getting some better supplies to wash it. And the OP is still quite happy with your work and defended you FWIW.

Seems to be pretty standard for that upper crust of detailers. While I understand their position, that doesn't make them right. They do the same thing on autopia, detailing bliss, etc.

In the end, I would say that the customer got more than a fair deal given what he paid.

I love clean fender wells. It looks (and it could be just the photos) like behind the front wheels is still dirty? Other than that, car is got a heck of a reflection... Good job!

Nope, I wasn't going for perfection in the fenderwells. They were cleaned up to remove loose debris then dressed. The main thing he was concerned about was the paint.

Yeah, i meant the painted part. IMO (which doesn't mean much lol), a couple extra seconds to run a mitt behind would have brought it to another level. Its one of the first things I personally notice right away on any otherwise clean car. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bag on you... The car looks great, it's just another minute of time and you'd really have nailed it :)

Ahhh yea, no worries though, I didn't take it in a bad way. That spot was actually clean, but it was all hammered from getting blasted from road debris and tar :(

Had the car been a show car I would have been much more worried about little stuff like that and taken it to that next level, however it is almost daily driven so that was another thing we agreed on to not spend a ton of time on.
