1990 Ford T-BirdSC

One of my clients called me a few weeks ago to explain to me that he got another car that he wanted me to detail. I asked what type of car and what color just like I always do, and he replied a 90 Ford Thunderbird. He said the got for real cheap and had someone paint for him. He wanted me to take out the swirls as he called them. I didn’t think it could be too bad since he had just been painted. That’s what I get for thinking. The guy who buffed it out at the body shop must have been high from paint fumes. There were holograms everyway!

Nice work. I think I still see some micromarring in the paint though. Overall nice job on a COOL car. ;)

I drive a t-bird right now!

Of course you do w/ the flash. This thing was trashed. I was happy to get it this good. The customer was very pleased and even tipped 15 dollars. Thanks!

um...is it just me or is there lots of swirls on this picture? I don't know if it's my eyes that are seeing swirls but I see lots of little scratches...like holograms.

wow, that thing came out awesome! nice job, man. I really like how the wheels came out, especially.

I think you could have considered a slightly less abrasive polish/pad as your last step because even though you had the flash one, you can still get it down sharper than even those results, which may still be more than the customer expected... either way, I would have tipped even more if I got those results!

Great job!! I know the swirls will stand out with flash basically bringing them to light, but however you turned that "thunderchicken" around!! I would pat myself on the back after that job nice work shady!

Okay, so let me get this straight...you knew that you were going to get maring and that's okay....oh well in that case yes, I agree. A job well done. I like how the tires look, very stylish...well at least I think so.

That is one amazing turnaround, a job very well done!

You are the second person I have heard call it a thunderchicken! Where is that from?!

You did an awesome job. Now I know what holograms are.
What did the painter do to create those?

I didn't know I was going to get marring. This paint job was a hack job, and I don't think all the defects could be removed w/o staying on the car for about 6 or 7 hours. As for a lighter finishing polish, I tried two of them AFP and SSR1. Neither two really made that big of difference and when I asked the owner he said one was fine. I don't think he was looking to pay 500.00 for a detail after getting screwed out of 1400 for a paint job. The paint job was so bad that you could see where the clearcoat had runs in it on the lower gray portion of the car. Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Nice work bro!
You're not going to get everything out of the paint when it's in that condition to start with. Maybe with wetsanding and a rotary but not with a PC. You got paid and the customer loved it right? All that matters!

I call them "superchickens" aka SC.

Nice job Bradley. The T-Bird came out looking really good considering the condition it was in.
:applause:

The person used a rotary on it. Then probaly used some glaze to hide them

Lauren, see this is what you might expect if you let someone hear your car...well maybe not but you never know :D
