I've never used it but UTTG is very durable and gets rave reviews. Have you read Corey's (Ceedog) review?
as for the 6 inch vs 5 inch bp, the GG has enough power to spin 6.5 inch pads so no issue there unless you can't get into certain spots due to the size of the pads themselves.
If you want to get another setup for smaller pads then you can get either a 2 7/8 inch LC pad and Griots 3 in pads (this is what I did, even though I use a 5 inch bp and 5.5 in pads), or a 3.5 inch bp and 4 inch pads.
If you go with 4 inch pads, you have more to choose from. For whatever reason, 3 inch pads are hard to come by even though LC does make them
