The owner of this GTR contacted me a few weeks ago interested in correction and restoration of the paint. This GTR was plastidipped orange since January, and the owner removed it just a few days before I came to work on the car. There was some dip in some of the cracks and crevices that was a real pain to remove. I struggled for a while with it, and did the best I could for the time that I had. I even went by the next day for a few hours to try getting some more off, which I found using Tarminator to be amazing at breaking it down. I will do my best to get the rest off in a couple weeks as I will be going back since the owner is interested in coating with 22PLE after hearing about it.

Anyway, the owner wasn't around when I got there, so we had already made arrangements with keys, etc...so that I'd be able to get right to work. As I initially inspected the car, I found plenty of swirls and scratches, but the weird thing about the paint was the haze on it. It looked like an oxidized single stage paint. Luckily it cleaned up great, and hopefully my LSP will stop it from happening again(which is another reason 22PLE seems like a great idea).

I heard horror stories about Black GTR paint, however working on it didn't seem that bad. It corrected pretty nicely, and I was able to finish down without marring the surface.

Wow the haze on that car almost makes it looks sanded. You really turned the paint around on that car great job. Looks fantastic!!!

Amazing job!!! Big difference! I bet the owner was ecstatic!

I don't think I have ever seen paint that bad on a newer GTR.

Note to self and others. Don't dip paint.

Excellent work Anthony!

WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY AND THOSE WHEELS AND LIPS....OMG!

Sexy car. You did that car justice! Great job.

Amazing work but why anyone would platidip a GTR is beyond me. Makes me kinda sick to think about.

Great job on that paint and thanks for sharing. You did all the paint correction outside in the sun with no cover, just curious ?

The car was dipped since a friend of his is trying to get certified with dipyourcar.com, so he let him do it. I'm not sure if the plastidip is what caused the haze, but it was crazy...almost a matte finish.

I did some research and it seems some GTR's had some hazing issues as well, so who knows. We'll keep an eye on the clarity over the next few weeks until 22PLE is applied.

As for the exhaust, believe it or not that was all M105 and M205 on an old short-nap MF towel that i only use on exhaust and other filthy parts now. All by hand, took only a few minutes per side!

Thanks guys.
