Yesterday was my first attempt at using my 7424. I've always been a "by hand" kinda detailer, but this Hondas finish was obviously neglected by the previous owners so I purchased after lurking and reading the forums here what I thought I needed to bring the shine back.
I decided to buy use the Maguiar's DA Microfiber system. (A helpful member recommended it)
I begin at 7 am Saturday morning by washing it was Maguiars car wash, and then clayed it, also with Maguiars.
The hood and top were badly marred with Bird Crap etchings, long dead bug guts, unknown stains, and little white spots.
I did a test spot on the hood, and though it brought back the shine, it did little to remove the "etchings" for lack of a better description.
So I went for it, and probably made a mistake or two, one I know for sure was moving the DA to fast. I also had episodes of the DA bouncing on the finish, but as I progressed that became less and less.
Anyways I learned a lot yesterday, and my technique improved during the 8 hrs I spent using the 7424 for the first time. Here are more pics of the results. Thank you AG for the help!
