Toto, Awesome Job first of all. Like TL above I am wondering about all the polishing steps. You mentioned that this car had very hard clear. The double compounding I totally understand. Following up with 106 I understand, Can you explain the reason for the glaze and then Ultrafina? Isn't ultrafina very similiar to 106? Did you get any noticeable return from those extra steps. Thanks
Paul
Most times with compounds, I try to get as much "finish" out of the process as possible. On some cars, 3M Dark Glaze is my go-to polish while others I use 106ff or fa if I have some light swirl removal.
Following the glaze or 106 (depending upon the car's finish), the dealer wants Ultrafina SE on all dark cars before applying #26.
In all actuality, the dual compounding makes the glazing/ultrafina/#26 process very easy and reasonably fast. The grunt work is in the compounding process.
