Hi fellas, this is about my 10th detailing job and i can say it was a real test for me and my buddy who gave me some help on this one. I was fortunate enough for the owner to lend me a commercial garage that is for rent with some great lighting, spot could easily be great for a detailing location (with a couple of downside since the front part of the building is 3 offices with a cafeteria...). It felt great to have our detailing spot for the weekend as it gave me an idea of what i could beg working with in a near future.

This is the car we received it

all the little spots on the hood are these nasty tree sap that have been sitting there all summer long and that he tried to remove with varsol, hot water, degreasser, etc.. the paint was in bad condition where he tried to remove it.

The car was first washed with the usual 2 bucket system w/ grit guards using some lovely smelling DG 901 using my Lake Country Foam Wash Sponge wich i think is amazing, my buddy rather' s the Meguiars wash mitt, dried up with the Guzzler and I used the Meguiar's drying cloth. We used some Riccardo clay bars to get the paint smooth again along with some ONR Clay lube.

Tar-X was used to remove the sap with some good scrubbing with a medium cut hand pad because the stuff was so intense. It took us about 4 hours to get through all of the sap.

Other products used: IronX, P21s Polishing soap, Simple Green HD, WG Upholstery restorer, CG Extreme Shine, Collonite 476

50/50 shot

We ended up using M105 on LC CCS yellow pad followed by UP on a CCS orange. The hood and trunk required a couple of passes with PB SSR3 (yes the bag-o-rocks!) on HT cyan pad (which oddly the velcro is starting the tear off only after a couple of passes) since working with the PC7424XP requires more patience and working in the swirls.

test spot beading was pretty fun to witness

first couple of panels were a blessing to look at and reminded us how good the rest of the car would be looking like as we went along

I did the interior with some DP Interior Protectant, treated the leather with some Autoglym Cleaner and also applied their Balm protectant.

Then we had to pull the car outside to see what 17 hours of detailing looks like :buffing:

Nice to see that black shining the way it should be, nice work.:props:

Don't think you need any tips or tricks, hope you were well rewarded for your efforts.
Beautiful job.

Wow. Nice turnaround. The wheels in the before pic look like painted alloys. Couldn't even tell they were chrome till afterwards!

First of all...:applause: Great job.

Thats what I was thinking...at first. Been to a few of the Brandywine yards pricing these for mine.

Thanks for the positive replies everyone! I couldnt've done it without AG :).

This is actually my bosses car (i dont detail for a living just yet ;) ) so i disnt charge a crazy amount. I keep learning on every job i do and this one was no different.

Pulled the trigger on a Flex 3401 earlier today, hopefully it will help me step my game up a notch.

I'm considering flying to Detail King for their 3 day course to learn more about the business side and to learn techniques such as paintless chip repair.
