I joined this form about a week ago and have been reading and reading. I ordered a Flex 3401 and the Meg system to do a finish on my Black 05 Corvette. I have polished for years with a rotary but have never been able to finish a black car. I tried and tried last fall on the corvette but no matter what I could not get the holograms out. The sales guy at AG guaranteed me this new machine would leave me a finish to die for. Since I also own a Black H2 and a Black Harley I am really hoping for some serious results. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As you already have, don't give up. Make sure you work the product in and work slow, let the machine do it all. Remember to use a light polish with a soft pad to finish.

Good luck, welcome and don't forget to post some pictures!

:welcome: To Autogeek Online!!

The Flex 3401 is quite a machine! I grew up in an ancient times before dual action polishers were invented, so a rotary was the only option....

The Flex 3401 combined with the right pads and products will leave a finish to die for....

I have used a Griots 6 inch with a combination of Optimum polishes and CCS pads to put a pretty darn good finish on the wife's black Harley. Having worked on a couple different black Harleys, you just have to take your time and check your work well. And I would recommend a finish polish, I have used Optimum Finish Polish and liked it, many others recommend PO85RD. The one bike I finished with just Optimum Polish II, I noticed I was getting light hazing/scratches in the direction I was wiping the polish off. Wasn't using much pressure and Griots PreWax cleaner to make removal easier. When I finished with Final Polish, I didn't have these issues.

which pads and polishes are you planning to use. Hydro-techs and Menzerna are nice combo's for a Flex.

Scott I am using the MEG 105 with a CCS orange pad and then finishing with MEG 205 and a CCS grey pad then finishing a MEG sealant and a CCS red pad have not chosen a wax yet. :buffing:
