Use one for a week and then the other and you will understand. As a technologist I frequently use the latest generation, and some pre-release models and as simply as I can put it: the iPad just has a polished end user experience that Andorid just can't match.

The lifecycle at this point is around 12 months, however I still use a first generation iPad every single day; it's not always about having the newest, it is jumping in with a good product that you will get a lot of use and value out of.

Ultimately get what is best for you; if you use both devices and are not able to find a compelling reason to go with one or the other, and you don't already have an investment in other apple or iTunes purchases, go with the Andorid.

I agree. As much of a cheapskate as I am, Apple products are worth the premium in most cases. I constantly hear about users with Android devices frustrated about this or that. I had a Nexus one for a while and dumped it because the software and hardware were not finished.

The only other product I might consider is the Kindle fire, but then again, smaller screen.
 
I use my iPad all the time for just about everything...

The 3G is a must have...

At SEMA a met and shared our forum with so many people I can't count, many had questions about detailing and it's easier to show the

Then it is to try to explain to the the URL Address plus I could then show them where my box is that I place all our recent detailing projects...

Last Sunday I rebuilt the Kingpins on my truck and while doing so pulled up a how-to article on the topic anytime I needed to check to make sure I was doing the right procedure.

It's also great for sharing full size pictures instead of using my iPhone, often time I'm sharing projects with older people and they don't want to look at tiny pictures on a phone screen...

Love the iPad...

im torn with the smasung tab 10.1 and ipad 2

ipad 2 w/o 3g does not have gps, the smasung does have gps with its wifi.

i also use windows at work and want t sync my word docs i dont know how easy that is with a ipad 2

galaxy taks better video and pics even tho the 3mp is less than 5mp on ipad because of wider lens and flash

im torn, i dont own apple products, bit it seems like the safe choice, but i really want to try the samsung for its gps capabilities.

I use an app called 'Good Reader' extensively, combined with drop box it will give you everything you want and more.
 
id rather just get a E reader, for me all those apps are useless, then again if i want a portable pc i would get a netbook or laptop....i dunno i-anything is way too fragile for me same with most electronics. that and the funds for them i can find better uses for...i used to buy stuff for the heck of it a few years ago and here recently i go through the "do i need it or want it" in my mind constantly when i buy something.i get bored with new electronics too easily and revert back to the same ole which is my desktop...i dunno this world is becoming too technologically dependent, even kids have i-phones when they have no logical use for one....that and kids are more and more getting addicted to technology, the days of kids just being a kid being outside and getting dirty are almost over, now i see why some parents have limited electronics access, i dont have kids but if i did they would be heavily limited, sorry about the rant but i had to release!. alas its your money not mine and everybody's situation is different...me id rather dump money into a car instead of electronics lol...

I really felt this way when the iPad came out, and resisted getting one for quite some time. Now, when I am traveling, my laptop stays at home. Even around work I have to move around a lot but still stay connected, the iPad makes a great companion device. Once I had it and used it for a few weeks, it quickly became one of those devices I would never give up.

It sounds like you have some good hobbies that you enjoy and I would encourage you to continue supporting those things. One size does not fit all, and this is certainly not a device you must have, especially if you don't want one.
 
Yes, thanks. I got that email today too. I will be trying that tomorrow...can't hurt. I'm already on their spam list, LOL.
