My nephew was recently married and while he was off on his honeymoon I borrowed his car to correct the paint on it. Since he was starting his new life with his wonderful new wife, I thought his car should look new as well.

The plan was to do a quick detail to bring the paint back up to a decent shine. The reality was a lot of painting and sanding and a weeks part time work to get it looking its best.

Products used
Meguiar's Gold Class wash
Concours Blizzard foaming wash
APC
Power Plus automotive aerosol paint
Menzerna FG500
Poorboys Polish with Carnuaba
Poorboys Nattys Blue
And every Lake County foam cutting pad that I have..

WOW, talk about rags to riches!! :dblthumb2:

The finish looked well worn by use and the elements and this is a testament to how even trashed paint can be brought back to life with the right skills and products...

One satisfied nephew I suspect! :props:

Looks like a lot of work but the results are exceptional. Great job.

I'm loving the job you did with this GTO :).

Whats up with the drivers side window in the 4th from the bottom picture? Is that just glare from the sun?

You really turned it around. Thanks for sharing

Now that's the way it's done. That car was hammered in the before pics, excellent work for sure!

Nice work on the VX.

I'm just about to do the same car/color next week for a friend.

Thankyou so much everyone for your kind words!!
To receive these comments from Auto Geek regulars really means a lot to me.

Unfortunately my nephew doesn't really care about his car any more. Until I got my hands on it, it hadn't even been washed for 18 months. But at least if he continues that habit, it won't get any swirls in the paint... lol

SkateForGirl, the glare from the passenger's side window was the sun catching the scratches on the inside of the window. I could feel them when I cleaned the window and thought it was unusual at the time. It doesn't seem to bother my nephew much though.
