This was the save of the day..somewhat back-breaking.

The overall condition on this paint was horrible, it had such heavy swirls you could barely see the holograms, (there were many more pictures but something jammed my SIM card..thankfully I was able to get these out)..

I decided to go all-out on Mezerna prods. here...After preping the paint with Megs. Red Clay I went as followed.

Using a White LC CCS Constant Pressure Pad, ( I should have dug up an Orange pad,..it would have made my life a bit easier I believe), I put Mezerna and my PC 7424 to the test..

First round using Mezerna IP and 5 section passes of areas 20"x20" on speed No.5,..not much..

Mezerna SIP and the same pad, same speed, 8 section passes covering the same area and a lot of constant pressure and slow movement..Finally worked..

Finally a Green LC Constant Pressure Pad with Mezerna IP and 3 section passes at speed 4 to help level everything out.

Topped it of with a Red LC pad and Mezerna PL..now I am waiting 24 hrs. to apply the final coat..wax.

Let me just add that Mezerna SIP is very nice to work with, no dust and you can work it hard, it takes a while for it to breakdown..just make sure you do break it down, because the down side is it is hell to take off if you work it in half way..Mezerna PL..down right beautiful.

This is how it started and ended on the pics I was also able to save. The results were 100% swirl and hologram free, if something in the picture resembles a swirl it is what's left of a deep scratch.

This is what my pad would end up looking like after the 8 section passes over the 20"x20" area.

Nice difference. I wonder why so much paint is coming off? I wonder if the previous hacker was so bad at buffing they took off a good amount of clear coat? Or is this a repaint with no clear?

I don't think it's paint. I think it's just road grime that was not washed off all the way.

I was curios about that myself..after examining the pad closer and by the color of the water that came from it when I was cleaning it. this was mostly a clear coat of grime..This happened only when I used the SIP at the beginning. Following passes with IP did not get the pad dirty at all.

Great work. Yeah appears to be a build up of dirt if there were no stains on the green pad with the IP.

Are you using 6.5" pads? You should try keeping your work area below 14"x14" cause 20"x20" kind of seems too big for the pc. Yes, an orange pad would've taken the majority of the scratches and swirls out you have on the after shots coupled with a more aggressive compound could even do wonders. :)

Yup, I know and my back knows it as well now,...I just wanted to try Menz. SIP, see how far it would go..Pads are larger than 6.5, I didn't have access to all my gear at the moment so I got down with what I had at hand.

Nope, that car has tinted clear coat.

Possible.. If it's paint code 202 it's not. but we may never know for sure.
Been a while since I've messed around in the lexus world :(

edit: Nice save for sure! I love menzerna products. Hopefully my client brings his Z car to me this weekend

Nice save and I agree, it was probably a tinted clear as number of Lexus cars had tinted clear for a number of years...

When I buffed out this 1932 Ford Highboy, I turned my buffing pad over to see purple paint and my first thought was there was a burn through somewhere or it had purple overspray on top of the clear coat but then the owner/builder/painter told me he mixed the color into the clear for that last couple of coats...

If you look closely you can see a wool cutting pad behind the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light and see a tint of purple on the pad and there's also purple on the 3" foam pad on the Flex 3403

Well the input keeps coming in.. One thing I have to say is, I could have never even gotten close to accomplishing this if it wasn't for all the advise and help I have received through this forum and website..that is were the 'true' merit is due.. Thanks a lot everyone.
