My 2003 Yukon's black metal trim is looking pretty bad. The back glass had a sort of rain deflector on it secured with 2 clamps on either side. After 10 years, it's rusted the trim. It's fading/corroding around the side windows, too. I don't think there's any wipe-on product that will help me, so I was thinking about using Dupli-Color Trim Paint. Anyone used this before, or have any better suggestions? Thanks.

have not used it but have seen some very good videos showing it. company has been around forever. i think this would be a great choice. lots of prep but a great result. did an old jeep recently and this would have have numerous uses.

What kind of prep are we talking? I was gonna use some light sand paper and some IPA or something to prep it. And have it all taped off of course.

thats all i meant. i have about 4 different paint prep solvent now and mostly use ipa anyway.

sounds like a plan. And while I was in Autozone, they had a Rustoleum version of the trim paint. Since rust is kind of an issue here, and Duplicolor said nothing about rust prevention on the can, I decided to go with a rusted metal primer, and the Rustoleum. I'll post back the results when I get the time to actually paint it. Thanks for the help
