Black Roof on Boss 302 Mustang Issues

Could well be extremely hard. The rest of the paint was, along with the two other new mustang's I have done. Maybe I will make another pass with a compound/cutting pad and then try to work down to a light polish like menzerna FF4000 or chemical guys V38 and see what happens. I was not worried about restoring gloss/removing haze after compounding, it's the swirls that worried me.

Good luck. Hope it works out. I would check your test area closely before you compound then look for changes after even if all the swirls aren't gone if there is improvement your moving in the right direction...

Thanks man. I will report back when I have a chance to make a pass at the roof/spoiler again.

Haven't heard anything about the roof on this Mustang. I was wondering how you finally got it resolved??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, considering when I go back to do a maintenance polish on his car I am going to correct the roof/spoiler on my dime. I had a lot of trouble leaving this guy with the two sections not being defect free after a major 5+ hour paint correction.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

I'd recommend getting foam pads with a flat face like any of the Lake Country pads for your machine and then I'd try a different type of abrasive technology.

I see guys all the time say,

Technique is Number #1

I 100% disagree.

Abrasive technology is Number #1

The abrasives are what are touching the paint doing the magic and if the magic ain't happening all the technique in the world aint' going to fix it.

:)

Thanks mike. I had similar issues on a 2014 Porsche 911 with paint as soft as warm butter. Only thing that did the trick was menzerna 4000 w/ a chem guys black hex logic pad (finishing/no cut). I just ordered some 4500 as well. When I have the chance to re-evaluate what is going on with the roof I will check back.
