Black Tacoma Advice

I purchased a 2012 Tacoma Pre Runner about two months ago. It's black (pure black, not metallic or anything).

So far, I've been using CG products (Citrus Wash and Gloss, Blacklight, V7 and Pete's 53).

This regimen produces pretty good results, but I'm not particularly amazed with the Pete's.

I've been thinking about the Blackfire Total Polish AIO.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The truck is a DD, but I typically wash it about once a week, and am trying to keep it as nice as possible. I don't have a DA polisher yet. The paint is in great shape, but it does seem to swirl pretty easily.

Also, I'm using MF, dual bucket method etc...my question is really more around recommeded products.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

2 coats of wet diamond, 2 coats of midnite sun. You will have looks and durability, as long as paint is in good condition like you say it is. All can be done by hand.

this. ditch the old technology and multiple coats of (insert here) wax or sealant!

unfortunately, you need to perfect the finish before you coat it, which you can't do without a machine, but once you coat it with Opti-Coat, you basically just need to wash it properly, indefinitely!

it's worth it to get it polished, prepped and coated.

the Tacoma clear is actually pretty hard as far as OE non-luxury vehicle clears go, but it's THIN THIN THIN. like any modern OE finish it will really benefit from being coated.

i have a feeling your truck is single stage paint, no problem with single stage minus oxidation issues,but with black SS the pigment is carbon black which is really soft compared to single stage white with titanium dioxide pigment. so do me a favor and give me your paint code and i can find out of its SS or CC if its SS you minds well go with a coating such as opti-coat or cquartz and will make the paint much harder,swirl less, and better then a wax...

Where do I find the paint code? Is it on the sticker inside the door jamb? Is there a certain letter or number that it starts with so I can identify it?

Hey guys, I did some research tonight, and it looks like my truck is Toyota paint code 202. I found this on the world wide web, and when I looked at the door jamb sticker, I found the same number.
