Blackfire Crystal Coat problems...

Well Im glad that Im not the only one to have the sticky problem. No matter how thin I put it on the paint got instantly sticky. There are streaks all over the black paint from this coating. I guess I will be polishing the car AGAIN to get rid of the BFCC and apply some Duragloss which goes on nice and smooth without streaks or stickyness. So glad I got this for a free gift instead of having wasted $60 of my money.

Sorry AG but this one is not so nice to me and I wont buy it for sure. Very happy with all other PBMG products I have bought.

There need to be some sort of additive to help thin it out to restore it's consistency. What a shame if this product can't be rectified.

I coated a Jeep Grand Cherokee 3 weeks ago as a birthday gift for my mom, every panel was done except for front and rear bumpers. I wanted to use my PE 8 to polish those areas with the 1-3" pads, which came on Monday. So today I used the PE8 for the first time(great little tool!) and went to apply the BF coating and same as above, sticky and very hard to work with. I stopped and coated with CQUK and everything was ok. I had no issues the first time I used the BF coating but the 2nd time just was a PIA. Going back to the CQUK which I've used many times, months apart on same bottle. All work was done in a temp controlled garage.

I know Car Pro marks each bottle with a batch code and date, I looked at my BF coating and didn't see one. Anyone else?

My bottle was a free gift from Autopia around black friday. Brand new never opened till about 3 min before application. Not sure I will ever try it again. I may put some in a spray bottle and see on my DD Bonneville.

To those who have had problems, did it eventually get slick after buffing?

To those who have had problems, did it eventually get slick after buffing?

I found that it did, but the buffing was VERY difficult and took a great deal of effort to get it looking presentable. Because of the extremely sticky nature of the product, the only thing I could do was apply it, wait for it to be almost dry, and then go to town buffing it out. Really a pretty miserable application process.

HOWEVER...Once I was done, the Mineral Grey Mazda paint looked fantastic! Even better, I saw the car again over the holidays and it still looks just as good as it day the coating was applied in July. In that time, the car has only been washed twice, but it still looks clean and shiny. A good hard rain is often all it takes to clean the car.

I'm pretty happy with the end result, but just not sure it's worth the pain and suffering to get there.
