Blackfire Wet Diamond by hand or machine?

This weekend I am going to apply some blackfire wetdiamond paint sealant on my new mustang. Should I use my GG random orbital with the GG red finishing pad or should I apply by hand with an applicator pad.

Is there any reason not to apply by machine?

Which will provide the best looking finish?

I apply all my sealants, including BlackFire, using my dual action polisher and either a red or blue pad. I would say the only reason I would apply it by hand is if I didn't own a dual action polisher...
 
Bobby I agree, I just ordered some Blackfire Wet Diamond and I will apply it by PCXP and a red/gold pad. I'm looking forward to trying it I've read nothing but great reviews on it.
 
Cool, I was hoping you guys would say to use the machine, it is much quicker. Is there any big benefit to putting on a second coat of BFWD. And should I wait the 8 hours they recommend for curing before maybe putting on a second coat?
 
They've told me that because it contains Polycharger that you could probably wait 4 hours to put on the next coat.
 
This is one of the big differences between the U.K and U.S forums.
In U.K. we tend to lean to hand application but U.S. its machine.
Dont blame you going by machine and look forward to the results dont think anyone has applied the Blackfire with machine in the U.K.
 
Everything gets applied by machine when I do it. Saves time. Well some carnaubas get bare hand application.

As for waiting, I was told that due to the polycharger you have close to 75% binding within the first hour. I usually apply a second coat around the 2 hour mark. This could be wrong, but it is what I have always done.
 
I always use PXCP with CCS Blue pad. Works like a charm.
 
Maybe try and top it with a good carnuba

You and me think the same. I am going to put on the midnight sun carnuba wax after 1 or 2 coats of the BFWD sealant, for the Wet Ice over Fire Treatment :)
 
Great product. I agree with applying with a DA polisher. Put it on thin and let sit for about 45 minutes. I'm not sure topping it is something I'd do but if I did I would top it with blackfire carnuba wax. I forget the name but its designed to top off wet diamond v
 
Im going to top it with either Souveran or SV Concorso
 
I applied the BFWD sealant last night, via my GG Random Orbital, and a griots red pad. It went on very nice and it did not take much to do the car. I wiped it off with a microfiber towel and it came off quite easy. At least compared to the Griots Best of Show Wax.

No pics yet it was raining out, and this week I will be applying some midnight sun, by hand to really make it pop.

I will post pics when done.

Was it as easy as I've heard to apply/remove? I got mine but I didn't use it. I topped my truck off with a coat of Natty's red.
 
it spreads like butter:) easy to remove as well, put some cg ez creme before it and MAGIC:)
 
I thought it removed almost to easy so then I waited about 30 minutes while it was in my garage just to make sure to let it haze enough. Came off just as easy.
 
I have not tried to apply by machine yet, I just feel like a 5.5" pad would soak up so much wax/sealant that there would be much waste. What is the trick? Do you prime the pad? How much to use to get started? I'm afraid I won't put enough on the pad and be dry buffing the paint. Any suggestions would be very welcomed for I really want to try this.
 
There did seem to be a lot of sealant in my pad when I washed it out. I don't know of anyway to avoid that. As far as priming the pads, I just spread the sealant around the pad with my finger before placing the pad on the paint.

I did notice that as soon as I backed the car out of the garage pollen stuck to it instantly.
