Blades vs guzzlers

Seems like everyone dumps on the blade but I've used one for years to knock the majority of the water off before towel drying and never had and issue. If you wash all the dirt of, clay what won't come out and rinse thoroughly - I can't see where it would be anymore danger than anything else. A towel can pick up crap and scratch paint just as easy. But I'm not trying to convert anybody, just taking a different stand from the bandwagon here. Ya'll use what you feel good about.

AH HA!!!! Surfer you are genious! My next door neighbor from england does that because he says he cant stand his brakes gettin all rusty looking after a good wash(picture him saying that with an accent and then you feel like your on an episode of Top Gear/Fifth Gear
You just gotta get used to the funny looks from neighbors and landscapers :D

yea i figured if they ask, maybe ill get some business out of them because of my wild style and technique for drying a car hahah:D

I use a blade keeping it clean and in its original package never letting it touch anything other than my veh after using a high quality 2 bucket wash and i also use spot free rinse. works great no streaking and havent seen any scratches rince often and check for contaminants.

I do not use a blade. I use an absorber and a guzzler. Do the blowers blow filtered air? If not couldn't they blow dirt, dust, etc. onto the paint at high speed and cause damage that way? As you can tell I haven't checked out the blowers that thoroughly, maybe at Detail Fest.

+1 here.

I've used Blades for quite some time. I can also see where it would be just as easy to get marring from a drying towel just as easy. God knows how often we've all seen improper towel technique used on cars.

I do make a point to wash my water blade before putting it on the surface of the car. I'm not sure how the handwash guys take care of their water blade.

But this does open my eyes to the potential damage and it's something I am going to seriously consider changing.

Just gave mine to my wife and told her it would be great for house windows--ouch!

If you use the flood method, you wouldn't need a blade.

If I'm racing the hot sun and no blower I'll often use the blade on windows. It saves a lot of water spots, IMO.

I normally use the "wind" method here in Oklahoma--100 degrees and
35 MPH winds--dries pretty quickly.

Has anyone tried the airblaster?
