Blizzard of 2022

Here in Chicagoland we got a legit storm, 6-7 to the N and 8-14 to the S and I drove through ALL of it. The worst part was my 2018 Transit trying to go up an incline on the freeway! I had the TC turned off and was going sideways doing 10 mph in the right lane with semis flying by me in the middle lane, aholes! Once I reached the crest it was ok but my hands were shaking and I was taking DEEP breaths I worked 9.5 hrs but because of the concentration it seemed like twice that

Today was a breeze with flurries

I forget whose truck it was but I was driving a Ford Ranger 2WD with an incredibly light rear end and I slowed way down before the icy hill to let the car in front of me get some distance and then I got on it to give me enough momentum. Well the person in front slows way down and I’m fishtailing trying to get over the hill. I was so pissed but just happy I made it up the hill. I learned to drive in Alaska and forget most around me learned to drive in the summer. :)

It only took me two hours to get from Akron to Cleveland tonight (46 miles). Usually about a 50 minute drive.

The wife's car (a 2013 Ford Escape 2.0 turbo / FWD) did AWESOME driving to Cleveland last night in the heavy snow...pulling back into the driveway this morning, not so much. Surprisingly the plows had already done my street and the plow hump at the end of the driveway, combined with the additional snow we got, meant that I only made it halfway into my driveway this morning. About 2' of the car's backside was still sticking out into the street.

Fortunately, I live on a dead end and there is little traffic, because that's where the car sat for about 8 hours until my brother and nephew came over and pushed/shoveled me out. I REALLY tried this morning to do it myself, but no bueno...it was STUCK
