What is the best tool for blow drying? Dedicated leaf blower? Or there something detailing specific?

when done washing the car, use the flood method and sheet as much waster off as possible and that will eliminate more than 50% of the water you have to dry off. use a leaf blower to blow off as much as possible. then use a QD or spray wax which will get the remaining droplets. if you have a good coat of wax or sealant, then the water will blow off a lot easier...

I use the exhaust port on my Rigid 4070 vacuum. I have a homemade nozzle with internal filter to catch dust and whatnot. Works beautiful, one less piece of equipment i need to carry around. Or I'll use my air compressor sometimes if I have shoreline power. Lots of guys use a simple electric leaf blower with good results. Makita makes a cute little 18v blower for around $100....not sure on CFM or run time. Anyone have one who can chime in?

Many use leaf blowers....but I absolutely love my master blaster. Pricey, but it freakin' rocks....

Metro Master Blaster

+1 on the master blaster, the only thing I would add is one or two extension hoses and the wall mount kit, that way you can mount the sucker on the wall and don't have to drag it around the car with you. The 10' hose is way too short.

I use the Metro Sidekick. This is a smaller blower and less $$ than the Metro Blaster. It does the job real well. My electric leaf blower is too loud and more cumbersome.

Drying with the Sidekick is the way I do it

+1 I went through a few mini leaf blowers that all crapped out after a very short time of use. My sidekick has been in regular use for Every detail I've done for the last 3 years and I wouldn't be without it.

Master blaster for 3 years wouldn't use anything else :)

I have a Black and Decker electric leaf blower on craigslist for $20.

Worth all 20 of those singles.... LoL

This is what I do, if I bother blowing the water off. Sheeting water on good/fresh sealant needs only a light QD wipe down.

My B&D was 35 at Lowe's lol.

I take the spray nozzle off and sheet the car then get out my echo leaf blower (gas) I have thought about the electric plowers but i don't want to use a cord..

Gas powered ones I've read can throw gas/oil mix.

i would never use a gas powered leaf blower to dry a car, but that's just me...

I went from a leaf blower to a Master Blaster and would never go back, I would gladly purchase another one. Its worth every penny !!

I have a Master Blaster and works well but I do not always use it if I can sheet most of the water off the paint or plan to use a QD/QW product. If it was wall mounted with a longer hose (a goal) I would use it more since it is hard to get out in my cramped garage.

I use a gas blower. I promise the stuff coming off the road after a rain storm is 10x worse than the bit of burnt gas byproducts that comes out of the exhaust of a leaf blower that *might* settle on the paint.

I wash my car weekly, I'm not worried about it in the least.
