This vehicle belongs to a good client/family that I've been doing cars for a few years now. This particular BMW sits outside 24/7 and becuase of this the paint had some pretty extensive contamination including bugs, tar, sap, rust blooms, and even a few areas with artillery fungus. The swirls weren't too bad, but still required a 2-step correction to get it looking like new again.

Process:
Wash - Megs Hyper Wash via traditional wash, IronX, Tarminator, rewash
Wheels - Sonax Full Effect Plus and various brushes, and Tarminator on the tar
Tires - Megs D143, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1
Jambs - OPC with mitt and boars hair brush
Clay - Nanoskin Prep towel with Glide as lube on all paint and glass
Paint correction step 1 - Griot's Fast Correcting Cream with Griot's MF pads
Paint correction Step 2 - Griot's Perfecting Cream with yellow Groit's foam pads
Tool used - G21, G15, Rupes LHR75e, G110v2
Towels - Griot's PFM drying towel, Megs Ultimate Wipes, Griot's PFM Glass towels, DI all purpose towels
Glass - Megs D120
LSP - 2 coats of Collinite 476

Very nice work Chad!! I'm glad to see you post your work here once again.

That is one slick looking wagon!!! Looks so badass. M-sport = YUM!

How long did the detail take you?

Wow! Very nice job! Thanks for the product listing too!

Thank You! Seemed like many were disappointed when I stopped listing my process so I'll try to include that from now on. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks Zach! I'm not usually a wagon fan but this one I really liked! :)

Do you like griot's boss g21 and g15 job?

Yes, very much so. You can see my review here.

Like Candy. Looks great.

Thanks!

Thanks Marc! The M-sport wheels really makes this car. ;)

I had about 14hrs into this one. I touched up the interior too, but that was just because they are a great client and was not part of the deal.

Beautiful work on that diesel burning, autobahn eating, M sport wagon Chad!

Man I love German wagons.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mike! :props:

You guys have it all wrong it's called a BMW Estate..lol jk

Great work Chad :xyxthumbs:

looks great, nice work..

chad, out of curiousity.. did you receive any compensation at all on the new GG products (free/discounted machines, polishes/compounds, pads, etc,.)?

Sure, nothing to hide on that subject.

All testers were sent machines with the notion that they were to be sent back after evaluation (2-3 weeks). We were given evaluation forms that were to be filled out and sent back in when we finished evaluation. As of today Griot's has not asked for the machines back, if at anytime they do I have no issues with that. During testing a few pads and polishes samples were sent at no cost to us as well (obviously we would never buy them just to test). Being local to Jeff I was more involved with some of the pad/polish testing and we also teamed up on a few details using them, so I did end up with more samples then some of the others and prior to release Jeff would give me more if I needed it as I wanted to try them on as many paints as possible. Keep in mind the formulas were tweaked many times during development and as a new batch was made I would often get a sample to try. Once the system went live I started buying my own products, but I still have many older sample bottles laying around and I just finally needed to place an order last week.

Jeff Brown did invite me out the 25th anniversary and launch event June 6th, at Griot's in Seattle. This was last minute invite and he said it was to show his appreciation for the help I did with the late night testing, refereeing other testers, ect. I was very hesitant on excepting this, for the very reasoning behind your question, but at the end of the day it was a great opportunity to see the facility at to meet Richard Griot's. FYI, my evaluation of the tool, pads, and polishes were in months prior to this invite.

I have a wholesale account at DI and for that reason my prices are removed.

These are some of the samples bottles I still have. While they are not all the same as the released product, they still work well.

This is my first time testing a tool, but all of the other testing I've done over the years for other companies (Megs, Opt, HD, ect...) products were always provided at no cost during testing. It would be silly for them to expect us to pay for something that may or may not be any good. Also know that it costs these manufactures a LOT of money to produce these small batches of products.

Hope this answers your question. :)

Nice work. Always enjoy your threads even though I don't often comment on them...I most often always click on them to view them.

Rasky - that is one of the best detailed process reports I have seen on my short time here! From washing to LSP, what products were used and even cut ratios! Everything in detailed step-by-step order. This really helps a newb like me better understand this whole detailing thing. BRAVO!!!
