I started on this 540i Sport equipped Bimmer last night. Surprisingly, there are plenty of light scratches especially bumpers and doors. Probably a car wash with brushes.

Here's the start:

Compounded one door and took a pic before the other. Used the rotary at 1200 rpm and 3M compound.

Using the lift has spoiled me! It's so easy to do the lower portions of the car

I'll finish the hood/roof/trunk lid tonight, then glaze and polish.

Later all

I like this picture, the lifts you have there are realy nice. Sure saves your back and knees. Looking forward to the rest of the vehicle.

540? You mean 545/550 :D

My biz partner is going to look at some cars today to lease, not sure if he made up his mind, wants the new V8 X5 but likes the 335i sedan b/c it comes in manual trans. Instead of working yesterday he spent half the day calling dealers lol. For some reason the 335i sedan looks sharp and nice to me, the other 3 series look blah.

You're right Surfer: it's a 545i with a Sport Package. Darn thing is de-badged and this old man can't tell the models (except the 2 legged variety) anymore.

It's a stunning car with the interior in that Zebra wood. All it would need is a ProCharger lurking under the hood...then you could chase M5's

I didn't know it was so hard to mess up white paint, but you're showing us that you can do some serious correction on it!

335 is a great car, TWIN TURBO!!!

you sure did a number on those swirls, good job toto

The lift came from Snap-On Tools. The dealer purchased it and I don't have a clue as to the cost. I do know there are similar lifts being manufactured in Oklahoma and they sell for approx. $1,500. If you can find a Hemmings Motor News, you will usually see advert's for the lifts.

Snap On Australia don't stock the lifts, they are special order dammit...will investigate potentially getting one imported...

Spilled Milk

Looks Like Spilled Milk Covered The BMW

Finished the exterior last night (interior tonight...which is in good condition).

After compounding/glazing, I power washed the car to remove product from body seams, windows, etc (which turned to ice quickly). Bought the car back in the shop to melt/dry and added a coat of Meguiar's #26. I'll probably add a coat of Souveran or Pinnacle Paste Glaze (I'm gonna miss that stuff when my supply runs out).

Here's some shots

I like this picture, looks really god Toto. I love the reflection you out of it, I've heard here that white is one of the hardest color to get reflection from...very nice :applause: :applause:

Nice work Toto! Something about those 5 er's get me. Even though I miss the classic looks of the e39, the bangles are DEFINITELY growing on me.

Okay Folks! Outside shots of the 545i before the new owner picked it up. Then, I've got some shots started on a new thread for a Black X5...lot'sa work needed on that one.
