BMW hit on the way home

Main thing is that you're ok. Just make sure your shoulder gets checked and her insurance covers everything. I'm not one to say "get a lawyer" off the bat, but if insurance gives you a hard time, go for it.

I've been following your great work and threads and just noticed that your car was only 6 months old! That makes things even worse! Are you getting a new bimmer?

On a lighter note, if you need someone to keep the Festool and Metabo warm for you, I'm there for you man! :D I think that's a wonderful combo. Got my Festool and waiting on the Metabo myself.

Take care!

I, too, am glad to see you are okay and well enough to post this up!
Stupid people - why do they do crap like that?
I hope she did not get away!!
I assume it is totalled, because your hood is bent and it must have frame damage, or do you know yet?
I hope it is resolved quickly for you!!
Blessings,
Lauren

Thanks for the kind words folks!

I sent my dealer pics of the car and he estimates approx. $5-6/k unless there is frame damage. That won't total the car.

I will have to wait until Monday before I find out more info. Gotta get a rental car sometime.

Toto, I hope you recover quickly and that your injury is not too serious. You're going to be more sore today and tomorrow then hopefully you'll be back to detailing. Get yourself healthy first because that's the most important thing.
It pains me to see your car too and I know this is going to freak some people out but as for your car....well it's only a car. Besides you know a place that has some sweet BMWs for sale and I hear that they have a guy that makes them look better than new. ;)
Take Care

Toto don't get a lawyer .... everything will be allright

I doubt if a lawyer would be needed too. As long as they repair the car and cover rental car expenses, I don't think there will be a need for legal help. I do want to ask about diminished value on the BMW because it has never been in a wreck until yesterday. I'll ask my dealer today...that guy will more than likely know.

Key word in that sentence is 'As Long' ....As long as my front end doesn't come off @ 70 mph !!!!!

Good Luck Pal

Sorry to hear about that Toto. I would go to the doctor to get checked out and that can be covered also. My mother was rearended and she ended up having all of her physical thearapy covered. Good luck

TOTO that is one DOOZIE! Glad you're OK! That won't buff out, not even Menzerna can touch that!

What are the next steps? Who is painting it?

And the beading on that black Civic is was sub-par!

Well, the insurance company will be sending it to the preferred body shop of the authorized BMW dealer here in Kansas City...and they do super work. Plus, my dealer knows them well and will let them know his "detailer" owns the car and do a preeemo job.

I've got a black Toyota Highlander rental which is nice so far, so they can take as long as necessary on the Bimmer.

That black Civic is one of the witness' cars and he knows my BMW dealer too! I gave statements to both her insurance company and mine, so it's a wait and see from here.

Really sorry to hear of your accident, Toto. But glad to hear you're doing ok. I had almost the exact type of accident a few years back.
