I own two BMW automobiles:

  1. 2001 BMW 325ci Convertible (steel blue metallic)
  2. 2009 BMW 528i Sedan (jet black)
I have been bitten by the detailing bug! I lurked around here for a few days and have been impressed with the support, training and reviews.

I just received my first order from Auto Geek.. I bought the Pinnacle XMT Porter Cable 7424XP Light Swirl Remover Kit & the Auto Geek Foam Cannon HP Kit.

I've got lots of swirls on both cars and hope to get them looking as good as some of yours! I'm going out of town on business for a week and want to get to work on them ASAP. I'm a little nervous as I have never used a polisher before. Living in the South (Alabama), it's hot and humid here so it's not comfortable working many hours outside. Luckily, I got a window AC to install in my garage, so it should be a better climate in which to work on swirl removal.

Here they are:

How easy is the paint to work with on BMWs? I see mentions of hard & soft paint.

I'm sure that I'll have a ton of questions but feel confident that I can achieve satisfactory results with the assistance of the forum. I look forward to sharing my photos from start to finish!

Looking forward to seeing some awesome correction pictures on that jet black BMW.

My wife has a jet black BMW and I found the paint very easy to correct. I used Menzerna Super Finish nano on a grey pad with great results. Followed by a light application of Pinnicle paint cleansing lotion and Wolfgang paint sealant 3.0 and it stood up to the acid test (direct sun and LED flashlight). After the Wolfgang, you can play around with the non-cleaning waxes to get the finish you like. This is where the real fun begins and you go broke!
