Was a bit rushed to start on this one, so no starting overall pictures, but here are some shots after initial compounding on the front clip basically. Will be working on this one most of the week, and Opti-Coat 2.0 hopefully by Thursday or Friday to allow it to sit overnight for the weekend.

I am using the Rupes 15 with Menzerna products. I love Menz products and on this paint, it is really making a beautiful result.

Before of the right front. Some light scratching.

After

Reflection after final polishing. Actually followed the FG400 with SF4000, then went over it again with a Rupes white pad and SF4500. Could not help, just wanted to see what it would do.

More to come as the week progresses.

Uber and then Rupes. I know that AG does not sell Uber so I hesitate to say, but I have them and that is what I used. Yellow cutting pad with the FG400 still finishes down so well, that you could literally go to LSP, but this is my best friends vehicle, so I am going even further, I would say that the third light Rupes white pad and SF4500 is a bit overkill, but I want to make sure that the finish is as slick as it can be when we apply the Opti-Coat. He does not have a lot of time to maintain the vehicles he has like he wants, so getting ulitmate protection is key.

It looks fantastic! Can't wait to see the final results.

Thanks, calling for rain each evening, so at least the weather want have me out wanting to do something else.

Your very right about beautiful results that paint is crystal clear and I bet it will really pop in the sunlight

Smack, I know you love the Menz products and I too over the years have come up with almost the exact technique that you use.

I have enjoyed Menzerna from the first time I used it and that was back in 2000.

Here are some more pics from last night. Made my way around the vehicle the first couple of nights with FG400, working the swirls and small scratches, going back over areas that I felt necessary. Last night, polished the lower half and hood with SF4000, then went back over with white Rupes Pad and SF4500.

How about that tape job. The owner did that while I was polishing.

More pics to come. May take a break tonight and get back on it this weekend.

Outside after tape removed. The sun kept peeking thru, but not when I pulled her out.

Got it finally coated last night, thanks FedEx home delivery for not being able to find my buddies house...That is a whole different thread. Anyway, once we got into the shop last night, I took the lights and walked around the vehicle one last time to see if there were any areas where I may have missed a mark or small scratch that could be repaired. Found a couple of areas, so I fixed those. We then foamed the whole vehicle with P21 TAW and 2B method the whole vehicle. He had to leave, so I finished up the drying and CarPro Eraser wipe down.

This is a spot where I went back and got some minor imperfections out.

Outside, prior to final wipe down

And another reflection selfie!

I then pulled the vehicle back into the shop, did my final wipe down and by this time the owner was back and we applied the Opti Coat 2.0. I really like the application, we had a day yesterday in the low 90's, so flashing was not a problem, and the vehicle looked like wet lipstick. Final touches to finish it out will happen this evening.

Fantastic results!!! I can't wait to try Menz products on my BMW's BSM paint

Thanks fellas! Final pics will come tomorrow.

Angus, you cannot go wrong with Menzerna products, no way no how.

Try smack's technique and you will be amazed at the results.

Looks good!

Mae sure you do a thorough wiedown after SF4500. It's a very oily polish and you want to make sure you have a clean slate before applying Opti-Coat 2.0

You guys give me the inspiration to step up my game!!!

Question - can I get the same results with my GG 6 or is stepping up to a FLEX 3401 or Rupes a must?

Yes Angus, you can get great results with the GG 6", the motor is really strong. I know that Mike has some good articles on using a DA for correction, but you can do it. Slow arm speed, using a great product and great pads and you should have killer results.

Looks awesome, I have been working on a mustang for what seems like forever (actually just since last week) but I am doing a similar combo! Uber on a flex with BnS MF cutting pad, I THINK it could be LSP ready but I am not chancing it, doing a follow up with a white Rupes pad and white ultra fine gel, LSP will be WGDGPS and Fuzion. It is for a buddy, who's dad is a HUGE car collector and restorer. After my last shot I sent him he already said his dad is looking forward to getting one of his cars done! I thing the extra free time I am spending on the stang will be worth it when I start picking up classic show cars!
