Well, IF I had one of those brushes, and it stank, it would not bother ME!!!! :dblthumb2: I'm kind of a different person. I can NO LONGER SMELL or taste nada. Im the MAN

The smell of a boars hair brush can be pretty rank....... One of my boars hair shaving brushes smelled like the hair was clipped from around the tail pipe of said boar. Those shaving brushes are sterilized before sale but the smell....... it does remain. Best thing to do is keep using it often, the smell will subside but please, leave the brush in the open where air can circulate around it until it's completely dry... including where the hairs enter the brush body. Putting the brush in the trunk of a car before it has fully dried will cause the hair to deteriorate as well as cause possible mold, mildew and even outright rotting of the base of the bristles if they remain wet for too long.

When going to use the brush, do let it soak for a few minutes in the soapy water to allow the bristles to soften up, they are quite stiff and downright abrasive when dry.

Boars hair shaving brushes go for a measly $10 to $20 or thereabouts but most traditional wetshavers will prefer a Badger hair brush... as they hold much more water and can be much kinder to the skin and yet have a very firm scrubbing action. Those start at around $25 and quickly go up to the range of $500+...... I have 6 badger hair brushes..... at those prices I don't think I'll ever get badger hair brush for my car though, no matter how nice it would be!:eek:

Still, if I could afford something exotic from Italy, perhaps a custom badger wash brush might have been in order. :D

I might have to cough up the dough for one of these.

I just finished using a Micro-Fibre Wash-Mitt. What a work-out that is, waving around a wet BAG.

I'm trying to do the right thing and and use all the best things for my Paint... but holy cow, the thing holds a lot of Water/Soap.

A Brush on a Handle seems like the way to go.
 
I love the one I just got. I got a foamer and still use 2 buckets, rinse and soap. So far, so good. Gets into tighter spaces easier, seems very gentle. I keep it outside so the smell isn't an issue. It smells more chemical to me than fecal smeared boar-butt, but maybe that's just me! As for saving time -- definitely. Way quicker and easier. I think it was a great investment and would recommend it. The only possible drawback is if you have to use a little elbow grease for say bugs and tar, a mitt would be better.
 
Which size of Boar-Brush/Long-Handle Combo fits into the AG Pails the best ?

Does the UB-702 Boar Brush attach to a Handle and if it can, does it fit entirely into a Pail, or do you dip one side in... and then the other side?

Is the "Round" one better for dipping in a Wash-bucket, but then take longer to wash a Vehicle cause of it's smaller size?

Get the 10" brush. I bought the Tri-Angle one and it doesn't fit a 5 gallon bucket, but I bought a window washers bucket and it works great.
