Boat Vinyl Seat Cleaning Advice

Hi, Warrior:

Try to clean the mold/mildew with one of the items I mentioned. If that does not do it, try Simoniz Tough Stuff (spray foam). Best-multi purpose spray cleaner I have ever used on car + boat interiors. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and wipe off, see if the mold/mildew comes off. (works great for cleaning marks off of plastic kick panels and rubber floor mats too).

However, to keep mildew and mold from reappearing in the same place you will likely have to wipe off the area with some chorinated water or something else. I recommend using Chlorox Clean up. Wipe off with sponge dipped in a bucket of warm water. If you don't try to leave some slight residue of Chlorine, and the boat is in any moisture laden environment, the mildew or mold can reappear, unfortunately. It is therefore a tradeoff with the Chlorox on the vinyl.

Good ol Tuff Stuff foaming spray will also work on vinyl seats and surfaces. This cheap stuff is still one of my favorite interiors cleaners, for light vinyl, carpet and upholstery cleaning its tough to beat.

Heater!! Thanks...after the storms passes thru the Maryland area I will give it a try...got to love white vinyl on a boat...but cleaning it UGH!!

Mildew and mold are hard to permanently remove. They can live on almost any surface if there is enough moisture and something on the surface to eat. They propagate by leaving spores that you can't see. That is why a home with mildew has to usually have the affected interior removed and replaced. Since you don't live in your boat, I think it is safe to say you can probably remove it and keep it off to your satisfaction.
