How hard is it to detail the exterior of a boat? I'm going to work on a clinets Lexus this week, Stage 1 + the interior, and he wants to know if I could detail the exterior of his boat. I advised him I will ask a few questions and see what I will be able to do. I'm sure Duragloss Marine might be the best way to detailing boats exteriors. Feedback will be greatful!!! I use the Automotive Duragloss on my Jet Ski and it works fine. If I need a Swirl Remover I have always used PB SSR1 and white pad then follow with the DG. I also do a complete wipedown with Poor Boys Waterless Wash after it comes out of the water everytime. Keeps it clean and helps keep the sealant fresh I think. Prior to winter storage I use the Klasse twins for extended protection.

If it is oxidized, head over to your local West Marine (or AG sells them) and pick up some 3M products.

If it's in decent shape, any good AIO and sealant will work fine.

It can be easier than you think or the most horrible job of your life depending on the condition. What size is it? Is it on a trailer or at a marina? Anti fouling paint on the hull or no? Fiberglass or aluminum? If you feel uneasy doing it then decline. If you accept it then add two hours to whatever timeframe you had in mind.

If it's pretty clean and just needs some TLC the products you already have will work.

He is suppose to contact me this afternoon when he drives back into Harlingen. I will go and look at his Lexus since I will do a Stage 1 to it this week. I will try to figure out where he has that boat so I could go look at it and take pictures of it as well.
