If I were to get a panel repainted by a reputable body shop because of deep scratches, would I be able to continue to compound/polish this area with a DA without any problems? I read that I wont be able to use the Maguires microfiber system, which I don't have right now anyway. I do have the LC foam pads though. Just wanted to see what you guys though before i went ahead with this in the spring.

Hi Erik,

If a automotive panel is properly repaired and painted, once its thoroughly dry, normal compounding and polishing is perfectible acceptable...we've been doing this for years without issue.

What Bobby said.I would wet sand the panels too if there will be orange peel.

Ok thanks guys, I figured there would be no problem. Just have to find the right body shop that will do a good quality job.
