2001 BMW Z8--- 1 of 178 made in that color that year.
A total of 5'703 made in the 3 year production (2000-2003)

And half were shipped to the United States
This is one of four registered in the state of GA

The movie
-- The world is not enough it was featured in it.
The 1999 James Bond film.

The price of this beauty was a whopping $128,000 MSRP from the dealer.
Still worth over a 100K today

The Wash
It was already washed for me. :) I did have to wash the rims with my favorite wheel brush. The '16 inch deep reach wheel brush. Since the inside of them were still dirty.

The Interior
Vacuumed- talk about a small interior. Pinnacle leather conditioner on all leather(seats/dash/doors/console/steeringwheel). Pinnacle XMT360 on painted interior.

The Gameplan
Out came the big dog my DeWalt with a wool pad, Speed at 1800 rpm. With Menzerna SIP and Optimum Polish. On the trunk/hood/top of fenders. Then out with the PC and a EDGE yellow pad. With the Optimum polish/menzerna SIP, to the whole car. Checked paint and was free of holograms from the rotary. Then also with the PC, I used menzerna 106FF and Pinnacle's XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze. For the wow effect. Topped this beauty with Pinnacle's Sig Series II.

The paint is called Topasblau Metallic.

All taped up

Nice job Ed but I was expecting something really exotic. What do you guy's think about the gauge layout?

Kinda like it Gary, but seems odd with nothing in front of the wheel.

I was too... no offense to you HighEnd. But a BMW is a BMW. But love that color blue

I think that is really neat!!
1 of only 178? That is exotic, isn't it? I think it is awesome you got to do another car from a movie. I would have been honored. I think it is a real compliment they came to you!
Beautiful, as always, Ed!

...mmmm...I...mmm....um.....I....mmm...

mmmmm...well it looks good, nice vehicle...not to mention rare.....bbbbbbut....it's a BMW...oooh LOVE the color though.

Hey question for you what kind of tape is that? I've seen it around but just never got the name...is it the 3M one? The paint looks driping wet, just wondering was the paint in bad shape? Why did you use the wool pad? Just wondering that's all...oh oh how was the clear coat?

Sorry abut all the questions, it's just that if I don't ask I'll never know and I'm a need to know type of guy :D

Thank you for sharing and man did you get us going..that was fun do it again :D ;)

By the way you always do the wicked vehicles...very nice :righton:

I have seen one, and i've even been in the passenger seatof one. It is a pretty neat car, the engine sounds great, but it needs a sway bar or something because the car doesn't feel good in the corners. It could have been TCS, but blah, I'd rather have a 997 Turbo. The engine sounds good enough to make up for it though, I think it has more grunt than a V8 Stang. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be mean, but it is too civilized to be fun :(

yah but his work is still very cool. :)
i would love to drive one, but that is ever gonna happen! lol:(

Oh ya, haha I forgot, NICE WORK!!!

:P A vette feels like a great sports car though. Too bad my mom wouldn't let my dad get a Z06. I have only driven a C5 Z06, but it is definitly a thrill in the corners!!!! You are lucky because you have a C6! :P C5 Z06 ~= Base C6, in my books.

Worth waiting. "Shaken not stirred". Very wet.

Car looks good I like the lines of the body.

Junk imho I would like like to drive a car were I have to take my eyes off the road for too long. I would have to give too many "double takes" to find the guage I want to look at. I watch all my gauges while driving, normally every 15-20 minutes I look at them to see what they read. I think the Mini Coopers are the same way.

That interior looks awesome! Check out the steering wheel!
Very nice. I would consiter this to be exotic, and I grew up in exotic car planet. (palm beach)
This is another one of those sick BMW's. Like the M5 or Alpina B7.
Good job, my friend. :applause:

Wow that's dope. I've never seen that car ever in real life. It's looking flawless :D. Do you have pics of the Batmobile? :)

I think it looks very good when some interior parts are painted to match the outside color of the car. I also think the gauge layout is terrible on the car but it's a nice looking car. I also like the blue paint. Ed always does a great job.

IMO this car is an exotic. I actually just saw one on the road the other day. It took me a minute to realize what it was because it's been so long since I've seen one.

Anyway, great job Ed. The paint looks really wet.

That car is pretty cool and to think that you worked on such a limited one is awesome. The paint looks so wet. I bet you were scrunched up inside that thing trying to detail ithe interior.
Nice job and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks everyone,

Nica

Tape--3M # PN26334 18mm x 55m and PN26338 36mm x 55m
Paint condition- the mobile wash monkeys gave the dealer specials on it.:D
Wool pad- I needed a better cut for some of the induced paint condition
clear coat--it was on the hard side

Gary- wytstang {
What do you guy's think about the gauge layout?}
I didn't pay to much attention to them, while driving around the parking lot. I was too scared of hitting other parked cars, and ruining the bumpers
