Could you use a foam pad with a bonnet instead of a wool one or is that a complete waste of time? Cause I don't have a wool pad but I would like to try the Indigo bonnets I got.

And if you can't use a foam pad anybody know if edge makes 6 inch wool pads?

Thanks

Yes, you can, but be sure there is no product on the foam that could leach on to the bonnet. You will get a better surface on the bonnet by using a wool pad.

Thanks.

another question: What are they used for? is it just for taking off wax?

gary26.

I have the Porter Cable 6" lambs wool hook and loop pads for the 7224 0r 7336. I'm willing to send you one if you'd like. I bought a dozen of them thinking I could buff with them. But I found out you need to cover them with a bonnet. PM me your address I'll be glad to send a fellow AG member one.

Thanks but all I have is the edge system so I don't have a backing plate. I appreciate the offer though and sorry to hear about your mix up.

bonnets are usually best reserved for wax or polish removal by machine. Use slower speeds and a foam or wool head as possible. They do seem to need to be changed more often then folding an Indigo in four and flipping towel as needed.
