BORLA cat back exhaust

In my experience unless the V6 is tuned from the factory with a factory tuned exhaust system they seldomly sound good with an aftermarket system

The very best example I can give you is the 3.7L V6 in the current body style Mustang

They make nice kits. I know the “gm performance” Silverado exhaust kits are made by Borla.

Have not heard one on a Colorado.

Agreed. I have the GM Performance cat back exhaust on my GMC Sierra AT4 and it sounds great and is one of the reasons I own a black truck (they didn't have a red or blue one with that exhaust). Mellow at idle, but as one of my friends said, when you step on it, it sounds like a Camaro V8 at full throttle.

It sounds like they have worked closely with General Motors to get this right!

I’ve had a Borla exhaust on my 99 Grand Prince since about 2000. No way it sounds like a V8 with it being a V6.

I think the degree of the V effects the sound. Now back in the day I had a 3 1/4" DP on my 87' GN flowing into a 3" exhaust into a transverse muffler w/ dual exhaust pipes...that sounded great!

Over in the FRS/BRZ forums the Borla's are known for sounding pretty good and being very livable at lower RPM's, yet having a nice howl at full song. However, there have also been tons of comments and a few pictures documenting build quality that is rather poor compared to other aftermarket exhausts available.

Here is an interesting picture comparison of some of the internals. Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community - FT86CLUB - View Single Post - The Gen 2 Exhaust Thread

Just curious if anyone is running one? A 6 will never sound like a 8, but this one sounds really good to me.

I love Borla, and from the sounds clips from them on a Colarodo/Canyon they sound good, even a bit better than Corsa for that truck. But from what I see/hear personally, Mallet sells one of the best systems for that truck. Think Kooks makes it for them. Now it is expensive. So if too much $$ for in the plan, my second would be to go Magnaflow's Overland kit for it. Still sounds good and being a ZR2 it tucks up tighter than Borla or Corsa.
Just my thoughts. But Borla does sound good answering your question.

I had one on an Explorer and hated it. The drone in the truck when cruising on the highway was unbearable that I took it off.

There's a name i haven't heard in quite a while, not since back when they were located in Cleveland and stuffing LS2's in Pontiac Solstice's oh so many years ago

Mallett LS2 V-8 Solstice

LS2's :D I had heard they pushed it some more after those and were one of the first that swapped in LS7's. A Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky... such beautiful little cars that didn't get the love they should have. But then guys like Chuck gave them alot of love, lol.

Buzzin half dozen. :)

I have a Borla S-Type on my Mach 1. Fit and finish is among the best out there as far as Mustangs go. I can't imagine that would not be true with other kits they sell.

You can check out aFe Power too. They have a pretty cool "Hi-Tuck" system for the ZR2 that keeps it away from crush zones. They have some really high quality exhaust systems. I have a full system on my GLI that I really enjoy.

Full disclaimer: I used to work for them so I am a bit biased towards, but high quality products.

AFE makes good stuff too. A co-worker has an intake and catback on his 5.0 F150, sounds great.
